Welcome Back Kory!

Kory Teneycke is back in charge of Sun TV after stepping down a few months ago due to his becoming a lightning rod for all the vitriol in our main stream media who feel threatened by the start-up news channel. As the story broke today about Kory's return, the very first sentence in the Globe and Mail's story was "the former Harper government spin doctor who abruptly left the reins of the right-leaning Sun TV News network is returning to lead the venture." Does this mean that we now introduce all former communications directors as spin doctors? Somehow I suspect that the Globe and Mail does not like Kory Teneycke.

Brian Topp (who ran the last two federal NDP campaigns and even wrote a book about their attempted coup) is a frequent contributor to the Globe, but his bio says "New Democratic strategist turns a critical eye on key players". Shouldn't his blurb say "former Layton spin doctor who spins the news"? When Scott Reid does his bits on the Soloman Show, he should be introduced as former Martin government spin doctor. Same with Susan Smith.

Personally I am happy to see Kory back at this position. He gives the old farts like Don Newman a villain to attack. I guess the question is whether or not a controversial lightning rod is good for a fledgling news network?

The first line of this Globe and Mail story in referencing to Kory Teneycke is
"The former Harper government spin doctor who abruptly left the reins of the right-leaning Sun TV News network is returning to lead the venture."
If everything is fair in love, war and non-partisan journalism can Canadians expect the same balance in their reporting or journalism from the media in future when they refer to Scott Reid.
Will introductions of Scott Reid take the form of

"The former Martin government spin doctor marks his return in his op-ed in the left-leaning Globe and Mail -- ---"
    or
"The former Martin government spin doctor marks his return as a guest on the left-leaning CTV network -----"
    or
" The former Martin government spin doctor marks his return as a panelist on the left-leaning CBC network program ----"
    or
"The former Martin government spin doctor in an article in the left-leaning Toronto Star ------"

  2. I only had to read comments as far as some goof saying "if you watch Sun TV it will burn your eyes out" that was all the stupidity I could handle. The lefty crowd are truly running scared.

  4. Does anyone know if I'll be able to purchase an internet streaming subscription? I refuse to subsidize the other "news" channels (and other CRTC mandated crap) I'm forced to pay for with cable. I would, however, like to be able to watch SunTV and if that means watching it on the internet, that'd be dandy.

  6. Sun TV will only work if a reasonable amount of the content is really conservative.

  7. I think the network will be fine. With Charles Adler and Ezra Levant, it'll easily be more conservative than any other network on television.
