"Tory operatives crash Ignatieff barbecue in Eastern Ontario"

Some Tory volunteers show up at an Ignatieff BBQ to celebrate the anniversary of his pledge to raise taxes, and the story in the Globe is about evil "Tory operatives". Right, because the people who show up to protest Conservative events never have any party affiliation or have received any direction from their party. I don't recall the last time the Globe published an article with the title "Liberal operatives crash Tory event". This is what happens when you allow Jane Taber to "set the agenda". People show up to protest a Liberal event and it is party operatives, but people show up to protest a Tory even and it is grassroots. Gloria Galloway is almost as biased as Taber, with Southey and Bryden rounding out the quartet of Liberal partisans at the Globe's politics section. May as well add John Ibbitson to the list. Nobody has ever accused him of being fair and balanced...

  3. Why was Iggy so indignant when a young person was asked to leave a Tory rally and yet was amused at this treatment of young people? Yes he was in attendance.
BC Blue has the video but it is hard to see.

  4. “Right-wing neo conservative stooges, responding to orders sent out from the American-Republican Tea Party WAR Room hidden deep within the foreboding, menacing and impenetrable Uber Bunker, set up an unauthorized Election Canada-like Polling station on the local university campus. Not authorized by Elections Canada and probably not authorized by the University.
All ballot cast at this neo-con bootleg polling station will be tallied with all other ballots cast.
There’s a rumor circulating that three days from now we should all be able to honestly say that all those tea-baggy thugs involved just vanished a couple of nights ago. And we’ll be able to confidently declare that chances are good that we’ll never see them again as they will have been engulfed in a world full excrement from hades.”

  6. Just having read an editorial in our local weekly rag about how PM Harper was the bad guy for the removal of a couple of students, naturally without any mention of how one was an NDP plant and the other a Liberal plant whose objective was disruption. I am not holding my breath to see this incident reported based on facts.

I ceased subscribing to all newspapers years ago but kept a subscription to our weekly local rag in an attempt to be aware of public meetings of things affecting our area. It is becoming however very difficult to stomach the rubbish claiming to be news.

  7. The thing I like about Ibbitson is that he at least admits to Liberal Bias and that its a fact through the visceral hatred by the Ottawa press corp for our Prime Minister. He makes excuses because he is one, but now we have confirmation from an insider. Liberal bias is a cold hard fact and its the only keeping these leftards afloat.

  8. If I may venture a comment off the topic, which has to do with the question as to whether the BQ should be included in the English language debates. I did not respond since it should be all debates, in either language, for BQ is truly a provincial political party unable to run candidates outside Quebec. Frankly it was a grave mistake for the federal government to allow them to sit in Parliament, and it is a mistake to include them in any national debate. As looney and ridiculous as the Greens are, at least they are a national party.

  9. Auditor Says Liberals Misled Parliament Involving $$$Millions

I expect Igantieff and Liberals would like AG to dust off and release some of her other reports while she is at it.

Liberals misinformed Parliament about millions spent on gun registry: AG

2006 Report of the Auditor General of Canada

The former Liberal government misinformed Parliament about millions of dollars in expenses incurred by the gun registry, Auditor General Sheila Fraser said.
The largest portion of her latest report to Ottawa focused on how the government twice failed to properly record tens of millions of dollars worth of overspending at the Canada Firearms Centre.

AG Fraser lambastes Liberals for blowing budget by a billion dollars on registry‏

AG Fraser lambastes Liberals for blowing budget by a billion dollars on registry. When Canada’s auditor general tabled her December 2002 report, she set her sights on Ottawa’s controversial gun registry program.
Sheila Fraser blasted the federal government, run by the Liberals at the time, for exceeding its estimated budget, saying that by the time the smoke cleared and all gun owners and their guns were registered, the program would have cost taxpayers more than $1 billion. Opposition critics were quick to point out that figure is 500 times more than the original $2-million estimate. A look at internal audits conducted by the Canadian Firearms Program suggests the cost of the program has been an issue from the beginning.
