Dude, Where's Our Carbon Offsets?
The Conservative Party is not buying carbon offsets for the 2011 election campaign, and they are the only Party not to do so. Oh the humanity! That sounds like a great idea for a poll question; should taxpayer subsidies go to buying carbon offsets for political parties in election campaigns? The Liberals, NDP, and Bloc are largely dependent on vote subsidies from tax payers to fund their campaigns, and they are buying carbon offsets. Frankly, I don't really care what political parties want to do with their own money, but once vote subsidies are involved, I become a little more frugal. It is best if we just cancel the vote subsidies altogether.

ReplyDeleteGlo-Bull Warming is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated in human history.
ReplyDeleteCarbon Offsets? is a bunch of BS.

ReplyDeletewell that does it. i liked lower taxes, job creation, the (slow or at least perception of) smaller govt concept, economy on the mend, good standing in the intl community....but NO CARBON OFFSETS!!! thats it, i'm going NDP.... cause jack apparently cares for polar bears and stephen doesnt.

The best description of carbon offsets/credits and carbon taxes that I found was on another post. The person described them as equivalent to the selling of indulgences by the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages.
ReplyDeleteNow if I could manage to get people to give me their money for a non existent product, I would never again worry about money.
Didn't the Conservatives refuse to buy carbon offsets in the 2008 "Green Shift" election, too? So why is this so important this election?
ReplyDeleteAnd aren't there reports of massive fraud in the selling and buying of same? There are serious problems in Europe, for sure.
