I just watched the latest episode of the CBC's "At Issue", and I thought that Andrew Coyne made by far the most sense. There have been times when I have disagreed with Coyne on that program, but he was on top of his game this week. Mansbridge was Mansbridge, Hebert was Hebert, and Ditchburn was competing outside her weight class. Ditchburn logs a lot of hours on the CBC and she is not particularly insightful. I would much rather have Allan Greg sitting at that table, and that's not saying a lot...
This episode is worth watching for Coyne.
Absolutely and completely disagree. Its the same argument as his traffic tolls which is to force poor people off the roads and off the internet. Coyne should move to a sleepy little town where nobody is online and there are no cars and leave the rest of us alone.
ReplyDeletethey're all missing the point . we have the slowest , most expensive internet on the damned planet . they want to raise the price because with people downloading and streaming television and movies , bell is losing money on its sattelite and cable companies . but instead they get all political and it boils down to tony clement isn't holding his mouth right .
ReplyDeleteLook up 2006, whe the Government changed some laws within the CRTC ...it is all the fault of the Government, in the end .
ReplyDeleteWhat Alex said, Absolutely. Coyne is a man who can count every tree and probably even name them, but can never see the forest. Out system is broken and needs repair wherever that repair comes from.
ReplyDeleteBeer is too expensive because it's all tax, which is social engineering. Same with cigarettes. And now there are ideas about taxing bad food.
