Who is the Funniest Canadian?

Here is a poll question that I would like to ask in the near future, who do you think is the funniest living Canadian? In terms of dollars earned Jim Carey and Mike Meyers have to be at the top of the revenue list. Russell Peters can pack virtually any venue in any country in the world, and is probably the highest earning Canadian stand up comic over the past few years. Leslie Nielsen belongs on that list, and I'm sure Norm MacDonald would even get a few votes. Hell, some of you might even prefer Rick Mercer for your loudest laughs.

Here is a list of funny Canadians. Who belongs on that list, and who doesn't?

Nominees:
Jim Carey
Mike Meyers
Russell Peters
Rick Mercer
Tom Green
Leslie Nielsen
Howie Mandel
Norm McDonald
Dan Akroyd
Rick Moranis
Martin Short
Dave Thomas

  2. Martin Short is just plain annoying, but I'd add Colin Mochrie to your list.

  5. Can I add Brent Butt to the list?

And most 20-somethings probably won't know who the last 7 on the list are unless their parents talked about them.

  8. Like everyone else, apparently I can't think of a funny Canadian WOMAN! What does that say about us? :)
John Candy and Ron James are both at the top of my list.
Jim Carrey and Mike Myers do nothing for me...

  9. Norm McDonald (even though his brother is Neil McDconald of the CBC).

  10. Russel Peters hands down.

  11. I'd have to say Russell Peters, though that might have more to do with the fact that he's the only Canadian comedian I know of. Thirty Four Fifty! Jim Carrey has been out of the country for too long.

  12. Preston Manning by far.
