It is nice to know that between broadcasts, Hockey Night in Canada TV personality Ron MacLean finds the time to drag dying men out of rivers. Although he was not the person who jumped in the water to save the man, he was among the first on the dock to pull them out of the water. Ron was dinning with colleague Don Cherry when the scream for help was sounded, and our TV personality sprang into action. Well done Ron. Sure the guy was trying to kill himself and will now have to proceed with his shitty life until the next time he jumps in the river, but that does not diminish the good samaritan deed that Ronny did between NHL games.
I think it is great that the NHL Finals are getting big ratings in the United States, but I haven't watched a game. I'm just not that interested.
I don't understand why people "aren't interested " just because a team based in a Canadian city isn't playing. The teams are so international now, it's kind of ridiculous to claim a team "represents" your city. The Sedins represent ME because they play in Vancouver?
ReplyDeleteThere's damned good hockey being played by Philly and Chicago, and both teams are heavy on CANADIAN players.
Chicago Captain Jonathan Toews, from Manitoba,Duncan Keith, who played here for the Kelowna Rockets,Chris Pronger, the best defenceman on the ice so far,and so many others. Hell it's a lot better series than if Vancouver had met Ottawa in the Finals.
It's professional entertainment,NHL style, not Countries competing against each other, that was in February,at the Olympics, and right now a lot of former Olympians are making for a well contested final series.
Go Chicago, (also coached by a Canadian Joel Quennville.)
