Chretien Is As Chretien Does

Liberal leader Mike Ignatieff has finally given his approval for Jean Chretien to conduct coalition negotiations with the NDP. What took you so long? When these merger stories first hit the media, Iggy should have come out and said "Jean is a winner, I'm not, he is more than welcome to negotiate the merger and dissolution of our party as it exists." Had he done that, he could have avoided all the friendly fire he's been taking from Liberal colleagues for being weak on the inevitable merger.

Iggy's comments today come as no surprise, as I am pretty sure that Chretien is a supporter of Bob Rae's leadership bid, Bobby being a former NDP merger who undoubtedly seeks a partnership with his former party. Let them do their thing, keep them happy, keep them out of his hair until after an agreement has been achieved. This is a great way for Iggy to kick off his Summer Under the Bus Tour, at least that's my opinion.

  2. Ignatieff leans to the right, Liberals have moved from a centre party to a centre-left party, which probably makes them progressive socialist's.

  4. Don't forget 'BROADBENT' he too with Chretien planned this whole Coalition deal.

Ignatieff has to accept the coalition as he told Kevin Newman on GLOBAL NATIONAL, " I have to honour my signature on the agreement".

  6. But why is the Crouton doing this.

Could it be that this Cracker fears that the Conservatives or some ethical bureaucrat is going to find that hidden closet door that has been bricked over?

What sorts of things do you think could be hidden there?

Does he look at Mulroney and see himself?

  7. And then we have the NDP hooking their ambitions to these Corrupto’s.
Could they of been bought off too?
Or just mesmerized by delusions of Grandeur?

  8. Man, our anti-coaltion election ads are just writing themselves, thanks to Iggy. We've got all kinds of quotes from him (many on tape), where he advocates for a coalition.

We thus see one of the huge downsides of the Libs standard practice of taking both sides of an issue at different points in time. We get to pick and choose the clips/quotes from the ONE side of the issue, that fits whatever narrative we want to push.
