Is This The Only Picture Of Kory Teneycke?

It would seem that every time the Globe and Mail writes an article about Kory Teneycke (which has been occurring with greater frequency these days) they keep using the same picture. I get the feeling that the Globe had an internal photo search competition to see who could find the worst picture of Kory for repeated use over and over again. Granted I understand their incentive to paint Mr. Teneycke in the worst possible light, given that their mothership also owns and operates the CTV News Channel (hence why Jane "Giggles" Taber gets so much TV time). CTV is even more vulnerable than the CBC because they don't have a billion dollars in taxpayer subsidies to keep them afloat.

More competition is going to hammer the bottom line of these two entities. CTV/Globe Media will likely be the first to fold under the stress of competition with a network in high demand. If I worked at the Globe and Mail, I would probably also be trying desperately to discredit Teneycke in order to protect my own ass. One way to try to do that, find the worst possible picture of him, and use it as the photo for every story about him. Very professional Globe and Mail...

  3. He looks like a regular guy. If he can get the news network running I wouldn't care if he looked like Liz May ... well, I take that back, maybe not Liz May.

  7. I don't care what he looks like so long as he offers up a news channel that I don't have to swear at before shutting off the tube.

  8. I don't judge a person by their looks, only what they say and do. Is their common sense and integrity intact. Do they have a sense of humour and a real person warmth.

Kory has ALL of those things and with the masterful way that he has made the leftie PPG expose their snake like venom, he is the hottest guy walking, in my books.

Hot, hot, hot, the guy is a master and this is hysterical to watch!!

  9. Could not believe Craig Oliver on Sunday. He was upset that competition was going to cut even deeper into CTV's market share and for what....only another right wing news outlet...why would they for we are already providing all the balanced news that Canadians could ever want...hah.

  10. Here's my take on the 'Fox of the North' thing:

Remember back in the 70's when minorities in the US and Canada (Blacks, Francophones, Latinos, Gays etc) complained, rightly, that they did not 'see themselves' represented in the media?

They wanted to see a more inclusive media landscape that would more accurately reflect their reality.

With equal parts regulatory assistance, and moral suasion from the public, these changes were gradually put into effect.

We now have a media landscape that somewhat accurately reflects the racial make up of the popultation.

    It's a good thing.

Now, fast forward to the concept of a conservative, centre-right media outlet that will help provide an identity to the 30+ per cent of Canadians who view the world from this perspective.

Why would that be a problem? (Don Newman)

We see a lot of sniggering and dismissing of the idea from the very people on the left who would have lit their hair on fire championing the rights of minorities to be included in main stream media.

    What's the difference?

I'm a citizen of this country and I want to see my world views expressed with equal status compared to those of the left. They have their networks, newspapers, infrastructure, etc. to carry the flag for their ideology.

I want my say. I don't want to see only my opiont, BUT, I want fairness.
