Kinsella's Voice of Reason

Evidently there are some Liberals out there who think that $57,000 for a reflection pool (also known as fake lake gate) in a media center hosting thousands of international journalists, will gain enough traction with "the Canadians" to justify collapsing the government. With Pavlov's Liblogs frothing at the mouth, leave it to Warren Kinsella to point out that "the Canadians" don't care. In fact 75% of "the Canadians" believe there is value in our country hosting these international events, and do not share the opposition's rabid response to yet another faux controversy. Either that or this is an example of the diminishing marginal returns to crying wolf. I think most of "the Canadians" have started tuning out the Liberals, such that when the wolf actually shows up, nobody cares.

I know that a significant proportion of Conservatives aren't keen on hosting summits like this, but I for one support any event that brings this many important people from outside Canada into Canada. I strongly support hosting as many Olympic Games as we can get, or any other event that raises our great nation's profile on the international stage. On the matter of security spending, I would much rather spend too much than not enough. The downside of an international dignitary being harmed on Canadian soil is far greater than spending a little extra money on overtime pay for RCMP officers.

That's my opinion.

  2. The coalition of stooges have not clued in the msm has failed. They have pushed too many silly fake stories that never amounted to anything.

In a good day we did not pay attention to politics, we briefly engage around campaigns or when we get pissed off.

Mulroney gave Campbell the keys to the sinking ship before we could exact our judgement.

Chretien was pushed out before we could punish him and Martin was left holding the bag.

Some deluded liberals believe JC could beat Harper if he came back. (I still get a chuckle)

Most people I know change the channel or roll their eyes to any politician.

The opposition are doing a wonderful job in destroying any support for "x" based on their relentless attacks on everything.

It will be fun at the next opportunity to officially the correct the liberal media, and the pollsters who believe 26% is the floor for the liberals.

  3. I share your position, entirely but are Conservatives really not keen on hosting these events because I must have missed that detail these past few weeks.

I still have my Summit 95 poster and up until a few weeks ago, hung framed in my husband's office.
Summit 95 was a blast and we took part in everything that they offered to the public, which was rather substantial.
I was indeed a groupie extraordinaire and the big thing was to try and catch a glimpse of Hilary and Bill, TOGETHER.....

So it would serve Canadians well to quit their bitching and be proud of their PM and country. I was anything but a Chretien supporter but proudly supported his position at the Summit as the host and my country's leader.

  4. WTF, I somehow think that with WK back in McGuinty's camp, it would be really bad optics to be dissing the many initiatives designed to SELL Ontario.
There are movers and shakers attending and from where I sit, Ontario could use even a few luke warm 'movers and shakers' at this point.

  5. CanadianSense: "The coalition of stooges have not clued in the msm has failed."

It runs both ways. The MSM hasn't clued in to the fact that the pseudo stories they pick up with the hope of embarrassing the government go nowhere because they (both the MSM and the stories) are STOOOOOPID. Poor Libs. What are they gonna do?

  6. When did S. Korea back out of hosting the G20, thus throwing it to Canada. What plans for the G8 had been put in place that couldn't be changed, thus forcing the cost to go up.
Hasn't Toronto got a bid in for some games coming up, will they use any of the security fences etc during that time. Or, will we all say, oh, Toronto is spending to much money.
I am constantly surprised at how Toronto liberals are dissing their city. I hope and pray that their voters are paying attention. They should take their leaders advise and shut up.
And if iggy made that same speech in Toronto and Edmonton, and said the same thing, why was it finally made public in Vancouver.

  7. best to beware the great butt-kicker showing any reason at all - he is attempting to ressurect his tattered reputation, so he can sell himself again as a political wunderkind - too much manufactured gibberish has gone under that bridge methinks
