Jason Kenney, the Week's First Star

The Tom Clark show declared today that Jason Kenney was the first star of the week in Canadian politics for the fantastic immigration bill that he negotiated with opposition members and had support from pundits across the spectrum (the nerdy guy said this legislation represented a rare occurrence where the National Post, Toronto Star, and Globe were all unanimous in their support of the legislation). Then after the final draft was complete, including amendments that the Liberals asked for, Ignatieff does a 360 and withdraws his support for the bill for no good reason.

I went to the National Post and Globe and Mail politics pages, and couldn't find any mention of the immigration story. It doesn't seem to be making headlines, but it did get a 5 minute blurb at the end of CTV's Power Play. Oh well, it is what it is.
