Dalton McGuinty's Police State

I enjoyed watching the Tom Clark Show this evening, specifically the part where Mark Holland was brought in to complain about the new policing measures introduced to deal with the G20 protests in Toronto. Just as Marky Mark was starting with his "Stephen Harper needs to explain why" Tom quickly jumped in with "Stephen Harper had nothing to do with it" and that it was done entirely by the Ontario Liberal government. This put Mark on his heals, as he was very reluctant to say anything negative about their provincial counterparts. He would much rather blame the Tories for something Dalton did, as opposed to directing his criticism at the source of what he's complaining about.

I saw Sid Ryan on television complaining that the large police presence is discouraging people from attending the protests and that they expect a much smaller number than would have attended with fewer police and a lower security budget. Too bad Sid. I'm sure Canadians across Canada feel really bad that your followers won't be getting the fire hose.

  1. Id pay to see Sid Ryan and all CUPE members get the fire hose.....by an Israeli.LOL!

P.S.Then we can hear them cry about how mean the Israeli with the fire hose was and how their rights are being violated.

  2. The yips on both major networks yammered all day about the protesters, the rules, the odd interview about a violation of their rights..blah, blah blah.

Two things came to mind. First, not once was I made aware of the cause being protested, just the outrage over this search thing and how they were comparing it to the "War Measures Act" and second, how I am searched every time I go to a Stampeders game and am grateful because that means loser drunks aren't going to ruin the game.

The conclusion, these protesters are whiny societal misfits and rules don't apply to them.

  3. All protestors ought to be sued to offset the peoples cost of protecting themselves. The inane childish temper tantrums of those antagonistic hooligans are costing our sane populous a great deal of money and productive time. Indeed they are robbing of us our real freedoms to assemble peaceably by assembling fraudulently in order to disrupt our peace order and good government. We need to extract this money back to the public by sueing the unions participating and by sueing other such immature misanthropes.

Let them assemble and complain in some farmers rented fallow field. Of course they are free to assemble and complain; but it is also my right to complain about them and the manner in which they agitate. Their way is no way to gain support or consensus in our way of life.

  4. Andrew Coyne says about the fake lake uproar
(it's a hit with the foriegn media):

''...As one of the first to fly off the handle over this without first checking my facts, let me be one of the first to confess this is a total non-story...
The media got rolled on this one, the opposition ran away with it, and we all ought to be ashamed of ourselves.''

  5. The reason summits are expensive is directly caused by protestors. And then they whine!!!! I am especially egregiously offended by the groups who are receiving new funds for maternal and child health!

They were all there protesting and were on CBC whining about this not being enough. I really hate them all now and will never contribute one dime to Oxfam, World Vision and the other organization from now on. This includes any other ungrateful idiots who just kicked the taxpayer in the mouth, insulted Canada and caused us to spend more money. The pox on the lot of them. They should donate their travel and hotel money to their own charity and stay home. Where is the thank you note?

  7. TangoJuliette sez:

Lotsa loons lambaste Harper as these same loons loudly lament alleged losses of liberty.

The truly neat twist to all this?

    1 9 9 0 !!

The Public Works Protection Act was first introduced in 1990. That was the year when Liberal Premiere David Petersen [Belinda poacher and Iggie promoter] lost the province to Dipsticker Boob Ray.

Which of these two, both now prominient Libranoid doofae, do you think was responsible for this "vile(sic), fascist (sic), nazzie (sic), Harpercritical (sic), boondoggle(sic) of legislation?"

HINT: It wasn't Harper. It wasn't Harris. It wasn't George Dubya. It wasn't a republican neo-con fundamentalist evangelical christian fanatic.

It was them bluddy pro-gressss-ives, dude.

    Sadly, 'tis to larff.

BTW: Al Gore's internet is a wonderful thing. Check out the Ontario Gazette from Queen's Park.

And/or Google "Public Works Protection Act." WOW!!

  8. Mark Holland is a typical Liberal. Doesn't even know what the Constitution indicates about powers and responsibilities. Didn't his buddy David McGuinty fill him in on what his brother was doing?

I'd go down to Tarana to watch the protests and take in the fun but...... I have a job.

  9. Almost forgot. Syd Ryan suffers from what we call in the IT business an I-D-TEN-T error.

    Think about it.... ;)
