Back to Work Indignation

I completely support the decision of Mike Ignatieff to have his MPs return to Ottawa for a candle light vigil when Parliament was initially set to resume.  Personally I think it will be very entertaining theatre, especially since you know they are going to get 24 hour live coverage of the event from CBC Newsworld.  I even predict a Soloman Show live on location.  I'm actually a little bit excited to watch this.  As Terrell Owens once said, "get your popcorn ready, it's gonna be a show!"

It will be especially fun when the Olympics actually start and the Grits have to compete for TV time while the CBC airs the Olympic Games.  They are going to have to gradually turn up the volume louder to get on TV, at which point they predictably begin making asses of themselves.  Remember Bob Rae and swine flu?  These are the moments, when the left attempts grand theatrics to try and score points; the result most often ends in failure.

I will be watching!

In the meantime, let's have TV cameras showing government MPs at work.  I know the CBC won't air it unless some E-List drama nerds stage a stunt in a vain attempt to make a name for themselves; but nevertheless let's have MPs at their riding offices every day with an open door to meet with constituents to ask them what they would like their government to do for them in the next session of Parliament.  Just be warned that the opposition will likely tap their footsoldiers to stop by and make a scene.  Be prepared to deal with that, but be polite about it.

  1. The Prime Minister himself should be on the Hill to let them in.

  2. And Conservative Candidates taking advantage of the LibDipper MPs being in Ottawa,
leaving the riding wide open for some conservative local media coverage.

All 308 ridings should have a planned event,
while the LibDippers are staging their Ottawa luv in.

  3. Well of course the Liberal MP's are back in Ottawa......MOST of them can get back to their ridings within 3 hours in a car and collectively a mere few hours on an airplane.

What a joke! Are the usual media bar hounds, worried that the tab pick ups and gossip won't be available?

Get to work, opposition Tri City, MP's. Being an entitled Central Canadian Liberal MP, doesn't cut it any more.

  4. I think you may be on to something Ice.
Once the vigil starts it will be like the time Geraldo Rivera staged that opening of Al Capones vault.
They have set themselves up to show they are going to do something, but they haven't said exactly what...er...showing themselves to be at work.

I think they are about to jump the shark this time.

  6. I am sure Soloman will be there just so long as his GPS locater is working or he has an easy to read road map. Although, in his case it really doesn't matter, he can read the latest liberal press release in front of a green screen and let the tech wizards dub in a scene on parliament hill.

  7. Won't all those candles lit be bad for the environment? Not to mention coming back to Ottawa for nothing. Maybe there'll be a big snowstorm...
