As I dragged myself out of bed in the late afternoon for another Lazy Sunday, I started surfing the news sites to see what was making headlines today. Answer, new pennysaver ads from the Liberal Party of Canada. Dirt cheap, uninspiring, print and radio advertisements that lack any creativity or sophistication. I wonder if to save money they went to a 10 year old in the Ignatieff Youth and asked him to quickly cobble something together in Photoshop so that the LPC could release it and make headlines in all the major Canadian News publications. Interesting that they are renewing the old "hidden agenda" parlor trick when the Liberal agenda is more closely guarded than the Caramilk Secret...
What were the headlines? Interestingly you can tell a lot about the editorial bent of each publication by their headline on the same story. The CBC is clearly the most pointed.
National Post: Liberal attack ads take on prorogation
Globe and Mail: Harper has 'something to hide,' Liberal ads say
Toronto Star: Liberal ads take aim at Harper's decision to shutter Parliament
CBC: Liberal ads slam Parliament's extended break
Kady O'Malley: Liberal Ads: The Conservative Party PMO fires back!
In unrelated news, Rick Mercer seems to suggest that it is out of bounds to Tweet about Chretien killing the Somalia Inquiry because he was PM before Twitter was invented. Thanks Rick. You can't Tweet about anything that happened before Twitter was invented, got it. Have you ever considered a career as an attorney?
ive never seen so many tories twitter about Chretien. Kids he was PM before twitter was invented.

Mercer seems to be taking this a bit too seriously for a guy that likes to prsent himself as someone that likes to parody federal politics.
ReplyDeleteIf he wants to be a pundit for the liberals maybe he should give that paycheck he gets from the CBC
