It would appear as though Mike's handlers are afraid to have their "Great Russian" take questions from the media on this University Mystery Tour. Yes, the same man who accuses the Prime Minister of proroguing Parliament to avoid tough questions is now refusing to be asked tough questions. It is a sound tactical move by his handlers, because honestly the more "Open Mike" you allow, the more likely it is that he says something incredibly stupid that will harm the party; I personally just delight in the hypocrisy.
Jim Flaherty had no problem taking tough questions from the bitterly partisan Evan Soloman. The questions were predictably pointed, but nevertheless Jim still answered them concisely with ease. He was fresh from a meeting with Canadians about what they would like from their government. Jim was followed by a puff piece about Iggy's University Tour. The Great Russian himself is being muzzled from the press by his handlers, avoiding even puff questions; so in his stead was Rosemary Barton. (You may remember Rosie from such moments of journalistic professionalism as jumping up and down at the side of the road screaming "I think he saw me" after Obama's limo drove by). In her professional review of the University Tour, Rosie must have dropped the words "very comfortable" at least a dozen times. She made her best attempt to put the best possible spin, which fell flat in the shallow void of the Soloman Show.
This evening I will be attending a Municipal Hall gala being held by my MP John Weston. My MP is not afraid to meet with his constituents on what the economic action plan is doing for West Vancouver--Sunshine Coast--Sea to Sky Country. I am very excited.

When would Iggy prorogue Parliament?
My vote is that he would prorogue so he could go to the annual Euro-weinnie Film Festival in France.
I thought Susan Delacourt was following Iffy around, all atwitter...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't think Mr. Harper would actually have any libertarian supporters left with his regressive crime legislation
ReplyDeleteI am a proud Libertarian who still supports Prime Minister Harper. Thanks for asking.
