Don Martin Entertainingly Bad
It is fun to watch Don Martin on Power Play, because it is clear that the people who hired him have instructed him to be more "animated". Now the vocal tones of his discussions are comparable to the adults on Sesame Street, exaggerating certain vowels to make uninteresting things more exciting. If you want a good laugh, watch an episode. It is funny how bad Don Martin is at this job. He has become a parody of himself. That being said, I agree with his opinion more than Jane Taber, who appeared to be #2 for the job; unless they hired Martin because Taber turned it down.

Martin is God awful. If he is being instructed to talk like that well it won't be long before they start looking for a new host. Martin shouldn't have given up his day job. The show is the same old show. The same panelists, the same partisan sniping and the same gossip. I think Martin and Taber are both trying out to be the top Gossip Queen of Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteI was willing to give the guy a chance, but when I saw the same old LIBERANO guests, especially Susan Lieberal Delacourt, Martin lost his support, as far as I am concerned.I am sure now ,it will be Jim Travesty as his EXPERT guest next, before we can blink an eye.He will be followed up by Lawrence Martin. Same OLD, same OLD.Too bad Kathleen Petty, Susan Smith and Greg Weston are on the CBC payroll. He'd have them hacks on. One thing in his favor, is he hasn't been drowning out the Conservative "guest" YET, like Evan Soloman on Power & Politics.Trudeau is famous for cutting off any opinon he doesn't agree with. Typical left Wing Pinko's.
ReplyDeleteDon Martin's journalistic insights have always been his access to the power brokers in Ottawa. I am living out of the country for several months so I was unaware of his new endeavours. His nose has been severally out of joint ever since the Conservatives formed the government. He just never gets the level of insider information that he used to get. He thinks that kind of info is one of his rights as a journalist. That explains to me his views on developing stories. He needs to give himself a shake.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how bad Martin is, he could never sink to the level of Evan Soloman. Of course, that is setting the bar so low that a flea couldn't crawl under it.
ReplyDeleteI think he was great as a guest but is very stiff as an interviewer.I thought it strange when he said to one guest that he knew what she was going to say "so we will just move on". He looked completely bored with the whole procedure.
