I would like to take a moment to remember the victims of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the Egyptian leader who spearheaded the 1967 invasion of Israel, a man who was responsible for more Peace destruction in the Middle East than anyone not named Yassir Arafat. The organizations created under his leadership have had a lasting impact on global insecurity, long past his death. The Israeli victory in 1967 was a remarkable military accomplishment, but that sacrifice would never have been necessary had it not been for Gamal Abdel Nasser.I keep hearing foreign dignitaries like say Barak Obama demand a return to the 1967 borders, but let's remember that the 1967 borders would be the 2009 borders if not for the audacity of Nasser and his band of unmerry men. Israel tried pulling out of Gaza, and Hamas dialed up the rocket fire. Hamas thinks this scores them points, but they are sending the message that withdrawal to 1967 borders equals increased artillery fire. You do the math. It is a matter of safety and security.
