Dalton The Twittering Premier

The Premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty is one year away from an election amid low public support, and thus he needs to think of an idea to boost his popularity. Enter the Twitter. Dalton says that a whole new world has opened up for him, but does this help or hurt the public's perception of this disastrous administration? That is today's poll question. Of course he is not blazing a new trail, as many Canadian politicians use Twitter to share information with public or engage them in dialogue. There is nothing wrong with a politician using social media as a means of gathering feedback from the people whom they were elected to represent, albeit in 145 characters or less. According to the National Post, this is a sign of desperation, and polling numbers indicate that he has good reason to be desperate.

So the question is, does this in any way alter your perception of Dalton McGuinty?

  2. I don't understand why the media or the official opposition in Ontario aren't all over Macslippery regarding not renewing Canadian Helicopters contract to provide Air Ambulance service in Ontario, allegedly some organization that has no history of running said company has been given the contract when CHL's contract expires. I think the name of the organization that will take over Air Ambulance is Orange, I have no idea how much more it shall cost the taxpayer to switch to the new operator but I suspect it's going to make Ehealth look like an accounting error? The conservative party in Ontario needs to do some digging via FOIA and find out what's going on with the contract and how much it's going to cost the taxpayer to switch carriers.

  4. My opinion of Dalton McGuinty would go up if he did some real, thrill-seeking thing, like base jumping off the CN Tower, sans parachute.
