Should Canada Join The European Union?

If our objective is to win a "western" seat on the United Nations Security Council, our chances would increase if we were members of the European Union. So if the Ignatieff Liberals would have done what was necessary to win a seat on the SC and stay at Camp Mirage; would that include joining the European Union? Would we have increased our chances if we had supported a Green Shift? Some coalition MPs certainly think so. If climate change was a factor, what is Iggy's Climate Change policy? He doesn't want to touch his predecessor green terd with a ten foot pole; I’d just like to know what the man who wants to lead us would have done instead.

I would like to know, would the Liberals like to open up Canadian air space to Air Dubai? Would the Liberals commit to climate change legislation? Would the Liberals join the European Union, which supports its members in popularity contests? If this has been a catastrophic failure of our government, what exactly would a Liberal government have done differently?

  1. Wonder why the National press Gallery aren't asking the hard questions?

  2. They would kiss the arses of every tinpot dictator, muslim extremist and environmental lunatic just as they always have.
Immigration would be limited to only those who promise to vote Liberal forever.
They would condemn Israel at every opportunity, invite Hamas and Hezbollah speakers to address the House of Commons on their tolerance and human rights programs.
They would pull out of Afghanistan and send our troops to the Congo where they could look pretty in blue helmets.
This is what the Ignauseus Liberals would do!

  3. No the euro currency, to the European constitution, bloated bureaucracy and the ridiculous expense accounts of the delegates to the European Parliament or whatever it's called.

  4. We did not have the Pro-Hamas/Fatah vote locked up.

We do not support redrawing the Israel map as Portugal does Arab 2002 Plan.

We did not support Global Bank Tax/Robin Hood Tax as sold in Copenhagen. We demanded developing countries be audited for their carbon emissions.

We did not invite delegates to the Azores for a retreat etc.

Our Maple Syrup trinkets were not a bribe. We did not sell out our friends and I am proud we kept our principle intact.

Liberals-Democrats are using the loss to Canada as an opportunity to divide us again. They suggest this was our PM's loss and not Canada.

The question is should we have competed, yes. The government felt they could affect change and reform from the inside more easily.

The loss belongs is theirs and the thugs in charge of the asylum have won.

Not sure why the left are happy or think the Portugal or Germany is MORE deserving.

  5. An obvious no to joining the EU. Free trade agreements: yes! The world needs more free trade.

Ditch the U.N. all together. They've let in too many dictatorships.

It would accomplish more if we were out and free us of any future arm-twisting. We're not gonna change the U.N.
Better to just lead by example and leave. Doing so would make it easier for other countries to do the same.

    Just my two cents...
