When Pacifists Attack!

Here we go again! Greenpeace has sure learned how to put the fist in pacifist. They have evolved from the realm of peaceful protest into criminal mischief and disobedience. Obviously they have passed the point of no return on an issue that public opinion is breaking against and have become increasingly desperate. If they want to be arrested and charged, then by all means arrest and charge them. Be sure to add up all the policing costs and send the bill to Greenpeace HQ.

As childishly criminal as today's scaling of Parliament is, I am more concerned with the big picture and where the recent trend lines of the Climate Clowns are heading. This is being operated by a command and control that is now actively seeking to break the law in order to attract media attention. You don't get 20 foot soldiers past the RCMP security net in Parliament without having some inside information on blueprints and security patrol routes and schedules. Somebody is sitting in a room somewhere planning and coordinating these incidents. I will put my faith in the RCMP to adapt their policies and procedures to keep pace with the activists. If they want to break the law, let's put them in prison cells.

I was also not impressed with the media scrum between reporters and police. I didn't quite get the name rank and serial number of the "journalists" asking questions, but they were being unusually combative with the RCMP spokeswoman. It was as though the reporters were trying to blame the incident on the RCMP, focusing questions on how the protesters were able to breach security rather than the criminal acts themselves and who was responsible. Yes, security was breached. I trust the RCMP to review the incident and adapt their procedures to compensate such that an act like this is more difficult to carry out in the future.

Here are some of my previous posts on this specific thread about Greenpeace and their protesting.

  1. Sure enough, seconds after I post this, the headline on CBC Newsworld is "RCMP Under Fire"

    So I twote about it:

pragmatictory: How come the headline on the CBC is "RCMP under fire" and not "Greenpeace under fire"?

  2. Unfortunately, it appears these lawbreakers all got down safely. All morning I have been watching the tube hoping to see one, or more, fall like a stone.

  3. What concerns me most about this incident is the access to our seat of government they got. Instead of eco-nuts, imagine if they had been actual terrorists. And then imagine if this had happened in the US and these clowns tried this with the Whitehouse or Capital Building. They would have been shot first.

  4. Greenpeace got everything they want and now the RCMP will pay the price.
Wanna bet this comes up in Question Period?

  6. Good post. Had a laugh out loud moment when my eyes connected with the headline. Well put.

Someone should start mailing green peace zip lock bags to "flatulate" into so they can be ahead of the curve in regards to "home-brew carbon capture" techniques.
Thought they would want to be the ones to set the "proud" example of to be "happy" little slaves to Co2 regulators.

I'm sure they'll find something to shriek about over these numbers:

  8. While Greenpeace acted illegally, it is also quite shocking that a location assumed to be secure was violated by so large a group.

Guy Fawkes is what I'm thinking about here.

  9. Greenpeace is a fund-raising machine set up to bilk the naive or stupid.

  11. Greenpeace is just trying to distract people away from the Climategate emails.

Yesterday their executive director was on CTV saying the emails were "politically motivated". I'd daresay people now have the right to wonder what Greenpeace's motivations are.

  12. And who informed the media to be there for the signs being hung.
Somebody knows, and I request Ujaal to demand that those that know spill the beans. What if some of that group belonged to, or knew those toronto 18. Didn't they threaten to blow up the buildings, and behead our PM.

  13. Did they get their plans from the Toronto 18 ?
