No Confidence in the Opposition

I would love the opportunity to vote no confidence in the Liberal party of Canada. I watched Question Period today, with the volume on, and honestly Mike Ignatieff has ceased to make any logical sense on a pragmatic level. It is as though the author in him wakes up in the morning and says to himself "what kind of superlative fluff can I write and speak today to make people like me?" These words may look nice when written on a piece of paper, and maybe they may even help Mike sell a few books, but there is NO substance!

Which then gets me to the No Confidence motion that the Liberals are foolish enough to introduce in the house today. There is no actionable substance behind the "eloquent" rhetoric. I don't know how many Canadians still watch Question Period anymore, but Prime Minister Harper trounced Iggy today. I had flashbacks to George Foreman fighting Joe Frazier. The parallels are astonishing. Meanwhile, they are tabling a motion that they can't possibly want to pass through the House Commons. Honestly, how many "right honourable" members of the Liberal party would literally collectively shit their pants if Duceppe and Layton supported their motion? I hope that room has adequate ventilation...

If your non confidence motion toppled the government, good luck blaming that one on the NDP! How does it make any sense to table legislation that you can't possibly want to pass?

one hour - the outcome of the campaign,
and one day - the fate of the country."

  2. If the NDP abstain, Bloc plus Liberal is not enough to take down the government. The Tory minority is too strong.

  3. I watched the news conference this morning and Ignatieff was severely rattled. He has lost his "cool as a cucumber" personna and looks lost and alone. If he wasn't a Liberal, I would feel sorry for him. Cheers.

  5. That is why the NDP did not get sick. It would have been a lot of fun for them to watch the Liberals squirm.
