Child trapped on "flying saucer"?

Sometimes when you wake up in the morning and turn on the news, you see a headline that defies expectation. When I went to sleep last night, I did not say to myself "the lead story tomorrow will be a 6 year old flying around in a UFO". I hope the child is safely returned to the Earth, but this can't be the only thing happening in the world right now. Surely the CBC can break away for a few minutes to report something of global relevance.

I don't want to have to watch this all day.

  1. They landed the balloon and the child is not on board. That is too bad. Despite my apathy, I did want to see a happy resolution of the crisis. Let's start a new chapter in the "Lessons of Parenting"; don’t strap your toddlers into experimental aircraft.

  2. I smell a publicity stunt designed by the family to get their 15 minutes. He had the country following his balloon thinking the kid was inside and the kid was never in danger. Way to jump in with the constant coverage CBC...

  3. Something isn't right with this story. Now we see that the kids have a music video and the dad wants to be a famous.

  4. The parents have been on wife swap. Kid supposedly hiding in cardboard box in attic of garage. His mother said he just walked into the room and come over to her.
Father hopes he is not sent a bill for all the searchers.
If it turns out to be a hoax, charges should be laid, and a bill for all costs sent to him.
Every network spent about 2 hours covering this.
