What was it that Mike Ignatieff said when this body bag "controversy" hit the headlines? He ostensibly accused the government of either wanting First Nations people to die, or sending them body bags instead of preventative equipment as some cold hearted gesture that justified Iggy's desire to topple the government. This is what happens when you rely on hyperbolic speeches filled with superlative mud slinging before you even know what really happened. He was so anxious to lead government discord among the populace that he made false accusations before the facts of the matter were known. The head nurse on the reserve ordered that many body bags. End of story. There never was a story, but Iggy had to speed out in front of the debate and set the terms. Once again he fell flat on his face. As a political tactician, Stephan Dion looks brilliant by comparison.
The first thing he should apologize.
I first read about this in the National Post, but I did scroll through the blogroll after I wrote my piece to find the first Tory posting on this matter. I want to give credit where credit is due.

I lay as much blame at the feet of the MSM for this one.... a simple investigation could have proved this, like maybe 'interviewing' the health care personnel on the reserve??
ReplyDeleteBut then, you wouldn't be able to create a scandal now, would you?
Yet another Lieberal Pseudo scandal exposed. My guess is that War-on Katsmeat is behind all these Pseudo Scandals and the plethora of false accusations on Liberal.ca They are blaming H1N1 flu on the Conservatives, claiming that Harper called women a left wing fringe group when he did not... and the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteWhen did a LIEberal ever apologise for a mistake?
ReplyDeleteThey still can not get over being the Official Opposition Party. Not one policy or suggestion - except for stimulus money (but not enough and being spent to slowly)
Perhaps you should add a link or quotation to demonstrate what exactly Ignatieff said on the matter. It would add to the punch of your accusation, and to its credibility in the eyes of readers not yet persuaded.
