When he isn't busy saving Canadians from those evil census collectors, Industry Minister Tony Clement is pulling drowning women out of raging rivers. If there is indeed an upcoming Cabinet shuffle, the Prime Minister may want to consider Tony for Minister of Public Safety. Of all the Tory MPs who could have found themselves in this heroic situation, it is he who has been under the most fire from the media this summer. It has become so bad that some of the more passionate pundits have accused him of manipulating the census to deny poor people services. Do evil people run down to the river and jump into the rapids to save a life?
Well done Tony, well done indeed!
I have always liked Tony Clement. He is a likeable politician. Not many of them are. Something zany about him and his googly eyes. He would be fun to hang around with.
ReplyDeleteNo thought to his safety, isn't it dangerous to go into the water right after eating. I would imagine a cold river would be worse.
ReplyDeleteNow that the mouth frothing elites and the Harper-hating media have exhausted themselves, we should be seeing more of this:
ReplyDelete''Lies, damned lies, and statistics -- all are used to advance the various "progressive" agendas -- and when the progressive types squeal like pigs that Harper is taking something away from them, I can't help smiling to myself.''

Long form census...be gone.
By law (Stats Act) only population and agriculture are 'mandatory' census',
that's why no jail sentences for non-compliance.
Iffy said he is gonna fix that.
I visited CBC.ca news page, and they aren't even reporting on the Tony Clement helps save drowning woman story. But on their politics page, there is plenty of census complaining...
ReplyDeleteIt isn't easy to make priorities...
Actually, CBC radio did a story calling Clement a hero. Then he came on and said a woman knocked on their door saying someone was drowning, they went out, fortunately the woman figured out how to float on her back, and his wife and father in law got a life jacket on her and pulled her to safety.
ReplyDeleteUm, where are the heroics here for Tony?
