Which American Pundit Would You Want For SunTV?

If you were allowed to choose which American pundit would you select to make regular guest spots on the Sun TV News Channel, who would you nominate? There is Charles Krauthammer, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, or maybe even a Rush Limbaugh. Who should be included in this webpoll? I assume that many of you visiting right now will also be watching Sun TV, so which American pundits do you want to tune in to see to discuss foreign policy?

  1. I'd like to see Dennis Miller or Dennis Prager on Canadian airwaves on a regular basis. Both are certainly moderate but also have views that would boggle the minds of the Canadian Left!

  2. I'm sorry, but everytime I see Beck I think of the movie "Network"

  4. Maybe O'Reilly but I get a headache after listening to the likes of Limbaugh and Beck rant like madmen for an hour about how Obama is a a rabid communist and how we're all screwed without actually talking about real policy. Ya sure they'll say things "small government" and "lower taxes" and "the government out of my damn business" in response but these guys are really not that deep.Beck doesn't seem to know what conservatism really meant before Reagan. He seems to confuse conservatism with liberal individualism. They're all just good businessmen who know how to get an audience and hence the ad dollars. Being against the liberals and democrats is easy. Actually coming up with your own ideas is hard.

  5. Krauthammer! He is consistently thoughtful and pragmatic while firmly espousing a conservative perspective.

  6. Come on Stossel. John Stossel isn't even in your list. I love the Guy. I love Beck too but he wouldn't be received well. I don't think he would want to be received well.

But actually come to think of it most of these guys are too American to be received well at all. I love Americans, but really they have enough channels. Everything Stossel says makes me smile though. look up "What makes America Great" on youtube. Its worth your time.

  7. None. The network should make their own Canadian mark first. Let them find our own Canadian US observers for now - we have some. Some of the well-known US pundits are a little too loud and talk over/yell when grouped, which I find rude. Those of us who like Glenn and Ann can access them soon when the CRTC packages are disassembled. Let Sun-TV develop something new, their own Canadian brand. American pundits might have a place on some issues. They are probably expensive too!

  8. I agree with "L". None of the above would go down well with mainstream Canadians, except for maybe Krauthammer..

  9. Ignatieff would be fantastic if he could tap his 2005 speech and human rights criticism of dictatorships.

He praised the US and Britain for their decision to keep spending up in defense.

He was critical of Liberalism and its failure to stop genocide and human rights abuses.

  10. Ignatieff will also be available after the election, all those neo-liberals would be happy.

Dion could appear as the token left liberal. Bob Rae could also fill in for Dion.

  11. None of the above. When I want to watch American TV, I'll watch American TV. There's not exactly a shortage of it.

I thought the point of SunTV was to be an interesting news channel, not simply be the news version of MTV Canada. We're inundated with American perspectives. If you want a non-Canadian perspective, look outside North America and you might find something that isn't already being done all over our TV channels already.
