How To Stump The Liberal Leader

Evidently the best questions you can ask to stump Mike Ignatieff are those about legislation that he is supposed to have voted on. A farmer asked him today how he could support NDP bill C-474 that would harm the ability of farmers to innovate, and Iggy didn't know his own position or if he should support it; followed by "If we got on the wrong side of [Bill C-474], we better take another look". Another look? When parliament voted on it, Iggy wasn't there! He never got a chance to make his first impression, so when asked about it; obviously he didn't know what his opinion should be.

I would strongly encourage anyone visiting a Liberal BBQ this summer to bring a question about legislation that he was supposed to be there to vote but wasn't.

  1. "If we got on the wrong side of [Bill C-474], we better take another look".

    Iffy flipflops across Canada.
Then, once facing Jack in the House, flipflops all over again.

Hope you're keeping track of all the 180 degree turns Iffy will make on tour, Iceman.

  2. Remember that old game show "Win Ben Stein's Money"?

Maybe Canadians can start something equivalent and test Mr. Ignatieff's actual knowledge of legislation that he helped pass.

Could call it "Getting Jiggy With Iggy".

Hey Mike, Why'd you vote again C10?

    Trick question! You skipped it!

  3. I doubt very few Liberals know many of the details that a bill encompasses; they have mostly only ever experienced functioning as a majority, entitled PR government and those details are left to the policy wonks and bureaucrats, paid the union big bucks, right?

What the heck? Why would Canadians expect a transplanted Canadian wanna-be Prime Minister that has only ever experienced 'politics by parachute' to actually know anything about a stupid thing like a Bill?

  4. No fair, these are not questions about his books!

Those kids were conbots, part of the rightwing republican religious right.

Ignatieff is a really smart guy and women think he is attractive. No really it's true.

  5. Maybe if MPs and Senators were not allowed to noonlight, they would show up and do the work they're paid, including generous perks and pensions, to do.

  7. Iggy is definitely not attractive to women. He is scrawny and has a phoney smile at the wrong times.

  8. People ask about bills that were passed in the last session of parliament, Mr Ignatieff does not know what they are talking about. Was that his "Dion Moment"? You know when Mr Dion was asked a question in English he had to turn to someone behind him to repeat the question in French.
Mr Ignatieff not only has no clue he immediately assumes his default position as being, "maybe we are on the wrong side of that bill Hmm... better take another look" makes Paul Martin look decisive, he keeps spinning around like that he is gonna screw himself into the ground so far he will come out in China apologizing for something. Is he handing out parer bags for the Liberal supporters to put over their heads yet? Embarassing Man.
    Cheers Bubba
