The Kady O'Malley Photo-op

Despite kicking off the 3rd week of post-prorogation parliament with the large majority of Liberals nowhere to be seen, CBC really wanted you to see a picture of Kady O'Malley live blogging directly behind Helena Guergis who was bombing her committee testimony. My question is if Helena was the story, then why is the photo centered on the CBC reporter and not the Minister? The photographer clearly wanted Kady to be in the center of the picture, but this is consistent with the cult of "personality" that guides the CBC. The glorified blogger covering a story is not the center of the story.

Others were conspiring that all the negative press being collected by Minister Guergis was coming from the Prime Minister's Office so he can take her down. The media is having way too much fun with this. It is bordering on absurd, and yet I would like to see Maxime Bernier back in cabinet. If that must be as the Minister for the Status of Women, then so be it.

  1. O'Malley's thumbs are going to squeal to a stop sooner or later.

Until then, the CBC is happy enough to use her for their needs.

  2. Why did you feel Helena Guergis was "bombing"
I found that she was well prepared and stood up for the Conservative Party
I found the members of the Liberal party on that committee to be rude
and asked repetitive questions and implied in a rude manner similar to question period that their questions had not been answered
All questions were answered despite the chair interrupting the Minister and accusing her of taking too long to answer
I must admit my experience at airports has not been a garden of roses
I have always just obeyed the rules but do not feel that these methods make flying safe example Christmas bomber on american flight
    Helena Guergis made a mistake
    To err is human
    To forgive divine

  3. I think Guergis should hang in there and don’t let the character assassins win this one. Her event at the airport should be a one day wonder but Liberals with help of MSM have been driving a nothing story for a week. The Tim Horton’s crowd is seeing there is nothing to this story and have less faith in the Liberals that they have anything to offer – who sees a lot to this story. Did she physically abuse someone? She lost her cool – big deal – who doesn’t from time to time – no violence involved – nobody hurt – nobody lost their job – nobody stole taxpayer money. This story is another Wafer gate, H1N1, Body Bags, door knobs, Taliban prisoners etc.
In the mean time economy rebounds and Harper gets the credit and after G8 the polls change and Conservatives will resume their ad campaign to tell their story if MSM won’t.

  4. Do we really have the whole truth and accurate story about the Airport incident or is it just an embellished version from Door Knob Easter? And we would go along with destroying a person’s career on his version of the facts, or Don Martin’s or Robert Fife’s, or Anita Neville,or Marlene Jennings,or Scott Reid,or Warren Kinsella etc.etc.
Why should we let these terrorists dictate the agenda for the Conservative Party.

  5. Why isn't O'Malley following 'tinkers cap ignatieff or is he too boring for her.
Chretien attacked a reporter and nothing of it was been mentioned in the media.

  7. Jen, I can't say that I remember Chretien attacking a journalist. You may need to explain further. Were you refering to a physical attack or a verbal attack? Jean was well known for verbal attacks.
