1 "Terrible" Budget, 0 Proposed Liberal Amendments

For an official opposition that has expressed no confidence in the Government and has declared the critically important budget a flawed document, you would think that perhaps they would have had one or two suggestions for how to improve the legislation. Apparently not, as the Liberals passed up an opportunity to introduce amendments to the document which they claim will harm the lives of Canadians. The NDP asked to increase taxes on businesses and the Bloc asked for more money for Quebec, each defeated by the Tories with the support of the Liberal Party. It is kind of an interesting hypocrisy to say the budget is terrible, and then propose zero amendments to improve it.

Perhaps the Liberals should defer their Official Opposition status to the NDP? At least Jack Layton has the fortitude to propose changes to legislation he opposes. Oh well, every time the Liberals complain about something in the budget in the next 12 months, we can just remind them that they had the opportunity to propose amendments to the very important document, and sat on their hands. Good work guys. At least everybody showed up for work.
