Where the Helena Guergis media frenzy is most beneficial to Liberals is that it is distracting attention away from our sensational economic recovery. We are set to crush all our G7 allies in recent and current economic growth, but is anyone talking about it? What's sad is that a story like our roaring economy gets lost in the noise, because it isn't a sexy story that you can attach to an attractive disgraced former Cabinet Minister. Our economy has a massive impact on the lives of Canadians, but they would rather read an inconsequential story about the most junior Minister in Cabinet because she is good looking.
Guaranteed when Parliament resumes next week, this irrelevant story will dominate the Liberal narrative. Nobody will be talking about what really matters, but rather a tabloid deconstruction of an elected member of our legislature. Helena defeated her Liberal counterpart 55% to 21% in the last election. Like Maxime Bernier before her, I expect her to retain her seat if she decides to run again. Sadly, she must first spend some time in purgatory. To quote Ricky's dad in Trailer Park Boys, "that's the way she goes..."

It will be interesting if the Gov't deflect the questions about Helena and Rahim to the independent MP.

This government will continue to focus on the recovery, jobs, the economy Mr. Speaker.

Iggy's grandfather, William Lawson Grant, did NOT fight at Vimy Ridge. He fought at Ypres. So why does Iggy keep using this sneaky phrasing, in order to infer that he DID fight at Vimy Ridge ? It's like fighting at Ypres was too minor of an accomplishment for Iggy's grandfather.
Disngenuous, weasle only begins to describe the Iggster. He deserves all the scorn and abuse we can heap on him.
Iggy is supposedly searching for a campaign plane. Why, with all the media basically saying he will glide to a win, just get a glider and depend on wind power.
