I can't figure out for the life of me what he realistically hopes to achieve by doing this Tour. He can't be fishing for votes outside Quebec and he can't reasonably expect constructive positive feedback for his constitutional agenda; so the only thing that makes sense is that he wants to be booed. I think he is baiting to be treated poorly outside Quebec, such that he can play the victim "us against them" card domestically. Personally my recommendation is that if Ducey is coming to a community center near you, stay at home. Better to pretend he does not exist than to give him to Youtube video he’s fishing for.
What should we nickname this national tour? The Separation Tour? Letters From Deutschland? Lecturing the Reich? The Oliver Twist Tour? Suggestions are welcome. If I can collect some more good ideas, this would make an excellent poll question. Also, it pains me to recommend that anyone watch the National, but Rex Murphy's rant this evening on Ducey's cross country tour is worth your time.
Maginot Line: a French line of concrete fortifications, tank obstacles, artillery casemates, machine gun posts, and other defenses, which France constructed along its borders with Germany, in the light of experience from World War I, and in the run-up to World War II.
The French established the fortification to provide time for their army to mobilize in the event of attack and/or to entice Germany to attack neutral Belgium to avoid a direct assault on the line. The success of static, defensive combat in World War I was a key influence on French thinking. The fortification system successfully dissuaded a direct attack. However, it was strategically ineffective, as the Germans did indeed invade Belgium, flanked the Maginot Line, and proceeded relatively unobstructed.
I support his goal 100%. Quebec has been a parasite and disruptive force in Canada long enough. I think it is time for the rest of us to invite them to leave.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why we try to trivialize Duceppe and his actions and motives and not take him very seriously. He does have the support of a vast majority of Quebeckers who have sent almost 75% of their MP's to Ottawa that belong to the Bloc Quebecois. This representation from Quebec is not a one day wonder either - it has been happening for years so Quebec people have consciously been returning a majority of Bloc MP's for years.
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets his message across to the rest of Canada that he is not interested in getting the rest of Canada to speak French ( although he will gladly accept any efforts in that regard) he is only interested in what happens to French in Quebec. Do we have to be hit with a hammer to realize that Quebec is very happy with the representation that the Bloc gives them - very very happy and when you see they get 8 billion dollars in equalization payments from the ROC you understand why. ( not to mention the 100 million dollars of taxpayer's money that Adscam poured into Quebec economy and the list goes on)
The truly funny part is that most people who know the Bloc and its foundation of ethnic/racial hatred compare its socialism to the socialism of the Nazis.
ReplyDeleteDuceppe isn't french, like the rest of them they are just pretenders with their own language. My response is Eff Off and take the rest of them with you.
