The Next President Of The United States?

If you had to choose the President of the United States from the following list of candidates, who would it be; Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, or Barak Obama? I'm doing my own little straw poll going into the Carolina primaries. Thus far this Republican leadership race has seen the main candidates spend so much time attacking each other that they are damaging the brand. I ran a similar poll back in November (see below) when there were more candidates, and Herman Cain won the most of your votes. Now that the field is down to 4 Republicans, I may as well add Obama's name and ask you to choose a President.

WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD WIN THE REPUBLICAN NOMINATION TO RUN AGAINST OBAMA IN 2012?

Herman Cain (30%)
Newt Gingrich (24%)
Mitt Romney (17%)
None of the above (7%)
Ron Paul (6%)
Undecided (5%)
Rick Perry (2%)
Michele Bachman (2%)
Rick Santorum (1%)
John Huntsman (1%)

This poll was taken in the immediate aftermath of Rick Perry's memory fart in a debate. Gingrich has been under attack for his infidelity, Romney under attack for being a successful businessman who likes to fire people, while Santorum and Paul have made the biggest gains over the past 3 months. Newt is hands down the best debater, and may have won Carolina for his spat with the CNN moderator last night. Romney looked unstoppable a week ago when Newt was attacking his success in business, but is starting to lose momentum, especially now that he has lost Iowa. Santorum is just a younger, less polished version of Mike Huckabee. Last night on Fox someone pointed out that 50% of Ron Paul supporters don't have a second choice.

Who would you vote for?

  1. Ronald R, one of the best, if not the best POTUS did not have a pristine personal history and during that time, where was the indignant drama that we are witnessing now?

I'm of the opinion that the US needs someone that can fire a few back at the silver tongued Obama. There is no one other than Newt that is capable of doing that WITH EXPERTISE and EXPERIENCE.
Newt has my vote despite his moral dilemmas and besides the Democrats are full of sleaze bag cheating two timers. Who are they to judge?

  2. If attacking Gingrich for his alledged infidelity is the best they can do, then I wouldn't worry. How quickly they forget the Kennedys and Clinton.

    1. Except that Gingrich uses the "sanctity of marriage" Schlick to attract southern baptists. Those people didn't vote for Clinton and I would be shocked if they gave up their values and voted for the serial cheater Gingrich.

  3. I would love to see a list of all the media who have played around, divorced, are gay, lesbian etc. Might let us into their reasons for their hate of everything. Secret Service used to cover up all JFK's little trysts. And when Clinton got caught, even before he was elected she was called trailer trash by the forehead.

  5. Yeah,ol' Newt may have sown a few wild oats,or maybe he had a different woman every night for the past 25 years, doesn't matter. Newt never drowned a young woman then tried to cover it up like a well known Democrat icon did.

People tend to get caught up in the Victorian era view of a candidate,if he ever strayed,or looked at another woman,he isn't fit for office. How bloody absurd.

Powerful men are offered the favors of willing, maybe even predatory women. It has always been thus, and always will be.Some men are luckier than others and strayed with more discreet women.

Maybe we should only elect celibate eunuchs. Newt has a lot of baggage, but he also has a ton of experience, and in a debate with Obama, would figuratively kick Obama's ass.

Obama probably wouldn't debate him,he'd be a fool to try to match wits with a character like Gingrich.

As has been said before,ANY of the Republicans would be an improvement over Obama. Obama 's agenda is to fundamentally change the U.S. from a capitalist world leader to a socialist also-ran,with Big Government ruling over all with an iron fist.

Obama has to be careful this term, next term his true radical self will show up, much to the detriment of the U.S. and the world.

I'll take either,Gingrich,Paul,Romney,or Santorum over Obama.

  6. If I were an American I would vote for Paul because he is the only one who will defend the American Constitution which is the prime responsibility of the president.

However, I would love to see Gingrich wipe the floor with Obamess in a debate. And, like others have already said, any candidate would be better than the Progressive retard they now have in office.

  7. It's true that an individual's sexual escapades are largely irrelevant. However, Gingrich has built his career on so-called 'family values' while in his personal life he was committing adultery, asking for an open marriage. Let's not forget that he staked a lot of his reputation on the impeachment of Bill Clinton for a 'crime' he himself was guilty of. Then there are also the various ethics violations he was found guilty of during his time as a congressman. While he might be able to hold his own in a debate (as long as he doesn't once again say something insulting to minorities) he just doesn't have the strength to defeat Obama, but neither do the other republican candidates.
