Dropping F-Bombs

There is no more versatile word in the English language, and today one indiscriminate usage of this word that millions of Canadians use on a daily basis is being exploited by the opposition in a vain attempt to prove an alleged hidden agenda. A conservative senator appointed by Paul Martin, who led the drive to gender neutralize our national anthem dropped an F-Bomb on groups lobbying for Canadian tax dollar subsidized abortions in the Congo. This is now being spun as the Conservative domestic policy on abortion being "shut the f**k up!"

To the groups who are still lobbying the Government on funding foreign abortions, it went to a vote in the House and it was defeated with bipartisan support. End of story. No matter which way you try to spin the snake oil, you already lost when a number of Liberal MPs defied Ignatieff's whip and voted against the Liberal motion to force this onto our G8 agenda. You lost. Better luck next fucking time.

  1. Perhaps we can get our Conservative Senator to make a rap video calling out the morons who are playing football with this issue.

  2. Someone suggested a resignation was in order. At first I agreed but then I realized they meant the senator.I was assuming it was Iggy he was talking about.

Iggy wanted a vote in the house on this issue then he allowed it to be defeated. It is time for hom to go.No?

  4. The last part of Ms Ruth's colourful chat with aid agencies (under-reported):

"Canada is still a country with free and accessible abortions. Leave it there. Don't make it an election issue."

    And Ms Ruth warned them!
    Keep talkin' Iffy.

  6. The Senator is pro choice. I find it ironic that we are creating "a culture of intimidation on abortion" when the lady who dropped the F-Bomb is pro choice. She, like a lot of pro choicers, oppose paying for free abortions in the Congo.

  8. I don't mind off topic. I have one more post to write tonight, plus my morning release. At your suggestion, I will delve into high speed internet-gate and lobby-gate.

  9. As Suzanne recently pointed out, the pro-abortion lobby has frequently taken to insisting the anti-abortion lobby should "shut the fuck up" about abortion.

I guess it's OK when they do it.

  10. What Iggy does not get is that lots of conservatives are pro-choice and lots of Liberals and even NDP are not, and even more from all parties are in the middle, happy to let the status quo remain, i.e., no legislation. I remember the first time this was debated and my mom-in-law being outraged that the lawmakers were mostly men!

Ruth is correct, but got caught by the divisive Liberal political games. What did she not learn re: the flag issue? Political smarts = zero. Bad appt by Paul Martin. She needs to shut the f up too, not apologize.
