End Of The Year Poll Questions

With three weeks remaining in 2011, I would like to run some webpolls for the (blank) of the year. The two big topics are the top political newsmaker and top news story of 2011, and your suggestions for additional poll questions are encouraged. The two biggest political stories would be the death of Jack Layton and the Conservatives winning a majority government; which would then suggest that Layton and Harper are leading candidates for biggest newsmaker. The Liberals falling to 3rd place was a big story, and Iggy made significant news for all the wrong reasons. What was your favourite piece of legislation in 2011? Which politician had the worst 2011, not counting the deceased?

Please submit your suggestions, both for poll questions and for nominations of biggest news maker/story of the year.

  1. Rob Ford should be inelligible because he is a Mayor, but Nenshi is okay, as per Power and Politcs year end poll question last year.

What was the biggest gaffe of 2011? I vote for the appointment of Nycole Turmel.

  2. The biggest gaff for the Libs & NDP was forcing an election.

  3. I wonder if Dion would like a do over on that vote to bring down PMSH.
And if the biggest gaffe is not appointing Nycole, she is a close second.
1st might be Que voting for a smiling leader with a mustache, thinking he would be PM in a coalition govt.

  4. My favorite piece of legislation: the end of the CWB monopoly. I've enjoyed very much watching politicians and other interested parties on CBC twisting themselves in knots trying to justify why a farmer should be compelled to sell his grain through a government monopoly.

From viewing CBC you get the impression Harper has done something that tears apart the very core of our Nation, perhaps for example, declared the Charter void,or declared Quebec is no longer a member of Canada, but it's ONLY about who a guy can sell his legally produced products to.

    They just don't get it.

Do you doubt, Bertie, for even a moment that RHPM would not get an overwhelming vote of support .... oh yea of little Faith.
