Which New Dipper would you like to see retire next?

Happy Retirement to Judy Wasaleesalice. I hardly knew thee. The question of the day is which NDP MP would you like to see put out to pasture next? It is not an easy choice, with blowhards like Pat Martin and Thomas Mucliar eroding public confidence in our Parliament more and more each passing day. I'm sure a lot of people would like to see Jack Layton retire to focus on his health. I'm sure a lot of people would like to see Jack Layton retire because they just can't stand him anymore (Dippers included). Libby Davies is on TV a lot, but frankly I can't tell you what she has said in the last two years because I have successfully trained myself to reflexively hit the mute button each time she starts talking. I have considered lobbying the CBC to put a warning at the bottom of the screen when she speaks:

**prolonged exposure to Libby's voice may cause permanent irreparable damage to your ear drums**

There may be one or two names who should have been included on the retirement list, lesser known MPs who really grind your gears. But if you can't choose a name from this list, you can't decide...

  1. I would like to see Layton, Chow, Davies, Mulcair, Christopherson, Martin, Ashton, Maloway, Julien, Cullen, Siksay, Godin, Stoffer,
    Hughes,Marston, Charlton, and harris retire.

    Thanks

  2. I am torn. I would like to see Irene Matheson put out to pasture but here is the rub. She is a teacher with the Thames Valley School Board in London so when she is in Parlament she can't pollute our kids brains with Dipper dreams but when she is in Parlament she sees porn on peoples laptops. Can't decide.

  3. Well, as an Albertan and supporter of the oilsands, the only NDP MP I want to see gone is Linda Duncan. I will work hard next election to make it so.

That leaves your list, and I have to go with Mulcair, after watching him during QP, he is scary in a more than usual NDP kind of way. He is also very arrogant.

  4. Linda Duncan was a fluke. If I were a gambling man, I would bet a large sum of money that she will be defeated at the next writ.

  5. You missed "All of them."

Really though, after Pat Martin, maybe even before him: Ujjal Dosanj

We almost got him last time. Conservative Wai Young missed him by only 22 votes!

    Next time Ujjal, next time!

  6. Correction: Ujjal won by only 20 votes over Conservative Wai Young AFTER the mandatory recount.

  7. Linda Duncan was elected because the riding she represents, given the time of year, is made up of primarily University students. Since the NDP promises to pay the tuition of post-secondary students every time there is an election, a half used bar of soap could run under their banner and still collect a large number of votes.

As for who I would like to see as the next "retiree" from the NDP, Pat Martin is an easy choice. He is increasingly become more of an embarrassment to not only his constituents, but his party as well. If he believes that his recent Parliamentary behavior is in any way serving the best interests of Canadians, he is mistaken.

    Mulcair is a close second.

  8. Yeah, I'd replace Paul Dewar with Ujjal Dosanjh. Dewar's accomplishment is that he took what used to be a safe Liberal seat in 2006. He's also one of the few cross-aisle friends that Stephen Harper has (they're both hockey dads with sons in the same league).

  9. I voted for Pat Martin. His opposition to the Youth for Christ in Winnipeg, combined with his behaviour recently puts him over the top.

I'm ok with Mulclair just because I know how much it kills the Liberal Party not to have that seat.

  10. Pat Martin has to go. This idiot has sunk down to a new low with his hate speech against YFC's youth center on Main Street. You know a socialist is bigoted and hateful when he criticizes a social justice organization serving at-risk youth!
