Justin Trudeau: Idiot At Best, Separatist At Worst

Today Justin Trudeau told a Quebec radio host that if he thought "Canada was really the Canada of Stephen Harper" that he would consider making Quebec its own country. This is a remarkably dumb thing for a man who sees himself one day running for Prime Minister to say. Clearly this was not something blurted out on a whim like the "piece of sh*t" cat call in Question Period, but rather something "I always say". He's put a lot of thought into it, with the intended strategy of appealing to the Bloc swing voters who elected all those Dippers last May. This might play well on the Quebec left's cocktail circuit and might make him some new friends; but outside the province, he looks like an idiot at best, a separatist at worst.

"I always say that if, at a given time, I believed that Canada was really the Canada of Stephen Harper and that we were going against abortion, that we were going against gay marriage, that we were moving backwards in 10,000 different ways, maybe I would think of wanting to make Quebec a country."

He's going to have this one thrown back in face for the rest of his political career. I'm sure Bob Rae has no intention of instructing Justin to stop saying ridiculous things. Trudeau has a significant base of support to run for Liberal leader whenever he decides to do so, but shit like this piling up doesn't help his chances. Up until now he was probably Rae's biggest threat, and these self inflicted wounds only improve Bobby's chances of capturing the permanent leadership.

  1. Justin Trudeau & Nycole Turmel... birds of a feather. Canada Seconders. Anyone shocked?

  2. He sounds like a guy who's confident that Canada does not subscribe to Harper's values, thus there's no real downside to the hyperbolic statement. I'd expect Toews' statement to have more impact than Trudeau's...IMO of course.

  5. When he said what he did,he was speaking about his country like all the separtists, and that country is Quebec. On P&P awhile ago,not one of the guests mentioned what the people in western Canada was thinking when he said he agreed with the separtists. If boils down to one simple thing, and that is that he and others hate PM Harper more than the separtists. The opposers can say anything they want and get away with it.They've called PM Harper everything except a white man.Everytime the opposers mouth off I have more confidence in PM Harper. The opposers know how well liked PM Harper is in most of the world.Trudeau,40 yrs of age and still childish, and will never grow up.PM Harper is a bully and took Trudeau's Canada away from him.lol

  6. Why is it that we never hear right wingers complain that if the Liberals don't run Canada the way we want, we'll seperate . . . or . . . whatever they can bitch at? We don't like Liberal or left wing politics but we don't threaten to seperate. What a joke.

    1. The first conversation I had with my Dad after the Coalition bid in 2008 was about Western Separatism.
See, while we'll suffer Liberal fools for a while that Coalition thing would have lit the fuse.
The Coalition didn't succeed and separation became unnecessary.
But, we've been talking about it for almost forty years.
      And we're not alone.

  8. In Justin Trudeau's world, Canada does not exist beyond the Quebec - Ontario border. His sainted father had the same opinion. lol

  9. He just killed any chance that he ever had of becoming Prime Minister of Canada. I, for one, call that "A Great Canadian Moment"!!

  10. Agree,RJC,this should be the speech that ends his chances, BUT Liberals will follow him to the grave if the Party anoints him Leader, all the while swearing he was misquoted.

I am SO sick of Quebec blackmailing the Rest of Canada. Run for Premier of Quebec,Justin, and let the ROC vote on whether to keep you in Confederation.

    1. I agree I have been promoting the "vote them off the island" idea for years. If Truedope Jr. can make that happen he will be my hero.

  11. He's 40 yrs of age now,and he's still a nobody, that's accomplished nothing in his life.I'm so sick of hearing the Trudeau name.I wish that Quebec would separate if it would get him out of Canada. With what he said, you would think they would check him out,and keep a close eye on him if he ever goes to the USA.

  12. This was a calculated move on the Dauphin's part. His objective was to endear the Liberal Party to Quebecers thus laying the groundwork for the next election to move the party into the Official Opposition slot. What he failed to comprehend is the firestorm his comments would unleash in the ROC. Brain based tactical moves are not his strong suit. When he confronts Brazeau on March 31 for the boxing fundraiser, I bet his physical tactical moves won't be any better. LOL

  13. Like Father like son... Trudeau Sr.'s only political concern's were for Quebec, and the manufacturing of a french speaking State, with the ROC paying for it. Trudope Jr. is simply playing out the same game that his warped father played all the time... say one thing in Quebec for a french speaking audience, and say the opposite in the rest of the country. The only difference's from then and now is that the country Trudeau Sr. duped into buying his act, no longer exists, and most Canadians now realize how warped, radicalized and dangerous Trudope Sr really was. Trudope Jr doesn't share his Father's acting ability, although he does share his Father's tendencies towards totalitarian ideology. Trudope Jr is much funnier then his crazy revolutionary Father though.

  14. It's funny how many people forget that it was the Liberal Party of Canada that voted against gay marriage in 1999. That is was the Liberal Party that ran a candidate who had issues with Aboriginals. That it was the Liberal Party that had a serious pro-life faction within its party (hence its Catholic donation base during its majority days.) Trudeau is an idiot - in fact in my opinion he's three times as bad as his father ever was.

  15. hey, don't be so surprised.
PET was a seperatist as well. Together with Quebec's own patron saint - Rene Levesque and a liberal bagman named Jean Marchand, he helped lay the groundwork for the FLQ.

    1. Don't be so obviously preposterous. PET may have been many things but he was anything but a separatist. Are you just trying to be deliberately provocative or are you truly ill-informed & ignorant? Peter

For all his faults I don't think PET was a seperatist. That and his charisma to me are his ONLY saving graces. He screwed up pretty much everything he touched and we are STILL paying for his mistakes. Over all he was arguably the worst PM in history

    3. Charisma you say..He had the face of a thief, the voice of a madman with villainous thoughts of communism. He had a just watch me attitude with a smirk anyone would have loved to slap to the back of his head.Charisma, not one iota.Class none,(pirouetting behind the queens back ) was a child in action ,not a leader. No wonder Margaret was stoned most of the time.

  16. we should be so lucky to have them go.i am in mexico on vacation and it is full of quebecers. The mexicans will have very little to do with them. The americans do not like them. They argue about money all the time like their dinner bill. perhaps they are hoping roc will pay. They are notorious for no tips. The cubans ran them out of Florida

  17. Is there an address we can send money to to help quebec separate?

  18. Speaking of PET being a separatist, it's a little known fact that 1972 hockey hero Paul Henderson became a mole for the KGB. ;)

  20. Turdeau is a piece of shit plain and simple. Spoiled brat long hair with 0 business sense, 0 pollitical experience 0 foreign policy experience and riding off pretty boy looks and a last name. Worst part is Moron liberals (not all liberals) and Quebecers will vote for him cause hell basiclly just hand quebec anything it wants, and spite every place that isnt Vancouver or Toronto.
