The Curious Case Of "Pierre Poutine"...

Today's poll question; Who is Pierre Poutine? He's the anonymous figure who seems to be at the heart of Robogate. As the authorities conduct a proper investigation we should find out his true identity. If and when that becomes public, who will he turn out to be? A Conservative, Liberal, Dipper, Anarchist, Marxist, Media member, Green, foreign spy, Al Qaeda, Taliban, an American activist, or do you think that we will never know? The hyperbole regarding Robogate has been insane. The allegations warrant an investigation by the proper authorities, more the police than Elections Canada, and I'd like to know more about the EC riding office in Guelph last April. Something smells fishy, in my professional opinion.

So who is Pierre Poutine? Might as well make a prediction before we find out the truth, assuming we ever do. I'm voting he's a random Anarchist. I'd be shocked if he were a prominent Tory insider.

  1. It doesn't make any sense that good ole Pierre from Separatist street would turn out to be a Conservative. Phoning R9 ?? Come 'on... no matter how much the Media Party would like that... it just doesn't make any sense. My bet is that Monsewer Poutine is a "Liberal", however, it would not surprise me in the least if it was an NDP'er or an occupy anarchist type.

    1. One thing for sure he is a Harper Hater,so that would have to be one of the opposer's.Why would anyone in their own mind believe a 3 time loser such as Rae,and those socialist bunch. There's only one democratic political party in Canada, and that's the CPC.

  2. Based on past performance my best guess is Liberal. The least likely would be a Conservative. That last one is based on the lack of trying to cover one's tracks. If you are smart enough to do all the leg work done to pull off this prank you wouldn't be stupid enough to use for nefarious purposes the same company your party is using for perfectly legitimate purposes.

  3. My choice isn't on our list! LOL. I'm going for lefty student activist of the down with the man occupy mentality; who doesn't like election rules; has volunteered for the NDP in the past; knows how robocalling works and how simple it is to set up calls using old voter lists; and decided to make trouble for the conservatives and the liberals; not supporting either party.

This is the issue that should be looked at. It was an illegay voting booth ... some of the students had the oppportunity to vote twice [their names should have been checked with home riddings] ...and there were complaints, but Elections Canada said they will accept the votes.

Are those complaining saying that 30,000 people were denied the right to vote - if that were the case, then there is a problem .... yet so far I have not heard of even ONE that has complained that they could not vote. Besides the LIEberals won the ridding.

The Cons should amend the Election rules banning Robocalling and non-authorised voting stations. Problem solved. That way only calls from Electiond Canada in caes of voting stations being moved will be made. not a political party.

  5. My choice is also a U of G activist who was targetting all parties in the attempt to make mischief.

My requests for evidence that this can in any way be blamed on the CPC have drawn such vague answers but nothing concrete.

Interesting that Pierre Poutine's is a student hangout AND Pierre himself was a factory worker who lived in Jolliet QC at one time. Coincidence? Time will tell

Totally agree. What's the Alma Mater of the G-20 instigator-perpetrator-babe who just went to trial?

  7. I keep coming back to the ramifications for future elections now that the anarchist type sees how it can be done. Monkey see, monkey do.

The fact that the opposition and the media didn't even think about human error as a factor and/or attempted to downplay it in favor of their own fantasies; ramped up the rhetoric, set up a suggestion of wide voter suppression and then invited people to remember "stuff"; used that information to foment a backlash is so beyond the pale that they have lost all credibility in my mind.

I think that the public has to consider banning robo-calling for our sake and for the sanity of our electoral process as a whole.

  8. The Robo-Hoax was instigated by someone who was enraged at the Conservatives for exposing the illegal U of Guelph voting booth scandal.
That’s where you’ll find the guilty parties.

    1. Errr, so according to you, someone po'd that some conservative campaign worker tried to seize a ballot box, then accessed the CPC CIMS database, record a professional sounding message in English and French, uploaded the recording and phone list to R9 to suppress Liberal and NDP votes to get back at Conservatives? Wow, exactly how does that work?

    1. LOL! I think Bob should keep his distance from Pat Martin. It was suggested by Greg, Kady etal, that the Liberals' next logical step would be for Bob to start "getting closer" to their friends the NDP. That's inside baseball for "just think of the potential if you get bi-elections"; you could visit the GG together. But I'm thinking Thomas Mulcair would just as soon throw Bob under the bus than share power of any kind. What's that saying? "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

  10. I suspect by now some real quiet investigation is underway by RCMP, or OPP, some people outside EC.
If the clues spouted by the media are correct, they probably suggest a trail which will lead to an individual. One thing clear, is that media suggestions should not be taken too seriously; the initial Ottawa Citizen report that the vicki-leaks person was likely linked to the NDP proved to be totally false. I suspect this case will have a similar conclusion, and that the case is further along than investigators are telling the media. Would any serious detective confide in the CBC?

  12. IMO, the identity of Pierre Poutine is already known by the authorities. A caller to a talk show rightly said that wherever the disposable Virgin phone was purchased, there would be a video tape of all customers in that store at the time. Of course, none of this will become public until EC releases its report on the Guelph investigation.

I'm also intrigued by the report that Ignatieff and his campaign team were present in Guelph the day the phone was purchased and activated. What are the odds this is simply a coincidence?

  13. You know Iceman, many of your commenters here seem to think that it was a Liberal or NDP behind the fraudulent EC calls to Guelph and other riding that originated from Rack9. The one thing that escapes me is this, how does trying to suppress Liberal and NDP votes help the NDP or Liberals?

These CPC conspiracies on the identity of the criminal are getting flakier than an Occupy Drum Circle.

    1. Zorpheus, you're right in asking "how does trying to suppress Liberal and NDP votes help the NDP or Liberals?"

By the same token, consider how one call to Joe Volpe's riding was reported:
      http://natpo.st/wv8P9r

«Then, on the afternoon of April 11, a phone in Volpe’s own campaign phone bank rang. Volunteer Marsha Sands described the call in an affidavit.

“I picked it up and said hello several times. No voice responded but I could hear voices in the background. I then said, ‘Hello, speak please. You’ve called me.’

“A female voice, soft and young-sounding, said, ‘Are you going to vote for Joe Volpe in the up and coming election?’ I responded, ‘Who are you? Where are you calling from?’ several times.

“The caller said, ‘The Conservatives.’ [my highlighting] I said ‘What? Who are you?’ Response: ‘Um, we are conducting a survey.’
      ”
The caller asked if Sands would like a Volpe lawn sign and hung up when Sands pressed her to identify herself. Sands said she could hear muffled coaching and other voices in the background.»

The caller identified herself as "The Conservatives" not "The Conservative Party" nor the "Conservative Party of Canada", the latter being the usual way REAL Conservative Party members would refer to themselves and their party. That young female voice could be someone who's a fan of Ashton Kutcher's Punk'd.

That caller is just as suspect as your valid question, i.e. why would a party call its own supporters to annoy them, on purpose?

    2. you didn't answer the question. Seriously, initiating a robo dialer on election day to misdirect non CPC voters (the lions share of the complaints) does not make any sort of sense if you are doing it to your own voters, Sorry. very thin

Also, it has now been found that the same burner phone is link to R9 cote suppression calls in three more ridings in Ontario.

The type of phone lists required point to one database as the origin of the information, and thus which party is responsible.

Unfortunately for the CPC it points to CPC and no one else.

    3. "the lions share of the complaints"

Where did you get that list of complaints specifying what the complainants were complaining about?

If you are privy to that information -- i.e. you appear to know what each complainant said to EC -- then, using your logic, that list of complaints points to one database that you apparently have access to ... so the conclusion is obvious: it points to you instigating the complaints.
See how silly following your example can get?

    4. Zorpheous you are thinking with mental blinkers on. The oppos and the MSM said that this was a voter suppression scheme. That doesn't mean that it was a voter suppression scheme. No one in their right mind would think that by making a few phone calls you are going to change the outcome of the election. However by making those phone calls and making it look like it was the Conservatives that did it you could create just such a 'scandal' as you see now. I believe that if there was any intent beyond a childish prank then the aim was not to suppress votes but rather give ammo to the Libs, NDP, Bloc to sully the reputation of the Conservatives in future elections and or by-elections.

Seriously, do you hanestly think the RCMP and EC are going to start their investigation look for someone tied to CPC or the Libs/NDP

    1. Given the logistics of obtain non CPC supporter phone lists and the use of Rack9 as the origin of the Guelph robocalls, I agree. Given the security mechanisms in the CIMS software it would require a person with national campaign access to generate SQL queries that could access more than one riding.

I doubt this will ever be pinned on higher ups in the CPC as I am sure they would have firewalled themselves from culpability, that is of course if this originated from the CPC campaign HQ.

  15. I’m just so happy that Canada has a conservative majority lead by PM Harper irregardless. Because if we had the libs in power we’d have same sex marriage, abortions and selective abortions all publicly funded, affirmative action, soft on crime attitude with no death penalty or harsh prison sentences, prisoners would have voting rights, we have no property rights or even self defence rights, we’d be turning our back on a great democratic nations like Israel who needs help against Iran………….and this Poutine thing that is going on in Russia, isn’t it his fourth term as president? He used to be KGB or something right? Man, no wonder there was a robot calling people to vote elsewhere when you got the KGB involved.
