I must admit, this was a rather odd caption to see near the top of the Globe and Mail website under a picture of Frank Graves, but that it was written by Jane Taber does blunt the shock. Jane frequently dissects EKOS polls, and thus it is perfectly understandable that she would come to Graves defense with absurd language on a national news site. The latest dust up involves a "viewer inspired poll" that was presented on the CBC to paint the Conservatives in a negative light. This viewer also happened to be a former Liberal candidate. Graves then pleads ignorance and that he didn't know, and Taber writes a piece with the caption "Conservatives vent spleen".
I think Taber and O'Malley are prepared to go down with the big ship Ekos. Stay classy ladies! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go vent my spleen, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
Apparently, after Frank Graves suggested that the Liberals invoke a culture war against conservatives, some journalists seem to think that conservatives shouldn't be mistrustful of him and his polling firm.
ReplyDeleteI personally await the day that EKOS requests Graves' resignation. They can't stand to suffer a credibility deficit indefinitely.
They've changed it now to 'Poll works Tories into Lather'.
ReplyDeleteEither way, it puts blame on Conservatives for CBC/Ekos bias.
I have to hand it to these media hacks, they're sure inventive when it comes time to twist and torque any issue.
Common sense would dictate a headline more along the lines of: 'CBC/Ekos in hot water again for perceived bias', but that wouldn't fit with the stock characatuer of 'Angry Tories Making Up Liberal Conspiracies'.
If we accept Frank Graves as only a donor to the Liberal Party and ignorant of the "pick" what are the odds of this pick having been a former Liberal candidate?
ReplyDeleteWas she the only person tuning in, submitting questions?
Are the questions, names being picked randomly?
You would think the CBC would try to be more careful in trying to appear "neutral" going forward. (At least for a few weeks)
I am curious how former Liberal/CBC staffer Mark S in the H1N1 lineup got randomly picked for the story still.
How did the CBC know to show up on Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg to air the return of extra body bags?
Are the CBC tuned in to the community, are people just lucky to run into those CBC news producer cameras?
How about the camera crew just showing up at Conservative party headquarters, when the police showed up in force to search for documents re election financing? It's not apparently a story that there was no wrongdoing. The FACT that many Liberals still owe for leadership expenses is ignored. No bias here folks just CBC lookin' out for the Liberals.
ReplyDeleteCheers Bubba
Don't think so Charlie!
ReplyDeleteAnyone in their right mind knows the truth about the CBC, Frank and all the other fiascos that have come forth in and past and now.
Time to shut the CBC down.
Liberals vent anus! That could be a headline any day of the week.
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed to see so many Conservatives participating in this ugly smear campaign.
ReplyDeleteI saw quite enough bullying and nastiness in elementary school. Sad to see adults continuing to participate in it.
What you're seeing here, Melody, is the blowback from those of us who are disgusted by the neverending attempts of the left-leaning media to portray conservatives as raving lunatics. It's nice to see you've managed to vent your leftist spleen with a modicum of gentility. By the way, dear, how's high school? Stay away from university; the bullying there is much more brutal.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad to have dissapointed you Melody. I will try to spin stories with a Liberal bias in the future. Hopefully I can make it up to you.
ReplyDeleteMike Ignatieff would make a magnificent Prime Minister!
Disappoint me again Iceman and I'm going to take you over my knee and beat you with a 900 page edition of Das Kapital.
ReplyDeleteThe leftist copy of the book must contain very large print. Most copies consist of less than 360 pages. How cute!
