Who Should Be The Premier Of Alberta?

With a left leaning Alison Redford now leading the Alberta PC Party, the next general election in Alberta should be very interesting. Today's poll question; who should be the Premier of Alberta? Is everyone just waiting for the acclimation of Danielle Smith? Should Gary Mar, Doug Horner, or Ted Morton have won the PC leadership and be leading the Progressives into the next election? The early consensus on the Redford administration is that the party is now more progressive than conservative, and that Wildrose might be the only Conservative party left to vote for. With Redford as Premier, Ed Stelmach has to be looking pretty good right about now...

What about Naheed Nenshi or Monte Solberg? Wayne Gretzky? I'm just throwing out names.

  1. There won't be any acclimation. They will be as tough to remove as the federal Liberals. Maybe worse. 40 years is a long time to dig in.

None of those others can replace Danielle Smith. I'd love to see Monte Solberg join up.

  2. Monte would be fine with me.
Can someone solicit his services and/or persuade him to run?
This could be a game changer and pretty much make everyone happy - Well, maybe not everyone but that's life.

  4. Left leaning? Redford is so far left she's encroaching on NDP territory.

  5. IMO we are witnessing the latest scheme for power by unelectable "Liberals"... It seems to me that Redford, like Christy Clark out here in BC are "Liberals" of the federal kind disguising themselves as Conservatives. Federal "Liberal" types know they are unelectable so instead they lie and pretend to be something they are not... just for the sake of power. I hope Alberta voters see through the pretense of these fakers and vote for the Wildrose alliance, just as I hope British Columbians see through the fog of "Liberal" deceit and vote for the BC Conservatives. Monte Solberg would be my choice if he were to run.

  6. Solberg, isn't that the guy that represented Medicine Hat ans Solomon as he retired he ran away from there. And took the "pigs at the trough" federal MP pension that he said he would never take?

That useless guy is laden with lies and bad baggage.

  10. Redford is taking the heat for a failed conservative agenda. People feel conservative ideology is a failure. Her popularity is skyrocketing as she moves to the left. Dave Hancock is really really happy.

  11. Alison Redford is the worst possible choice to lead the PC's into the next election. There's not a conservative bone in her body. Take the latest move by her to bully the public with the new drunk driving legislation. It won't take anymore drunks off the than it does now, but it will most certainly be a nice little cash cow for the government. It's not surprising she's doing this. As a former teacher, she's knows all about lording it over her students....I mean subjects.

  12. The Alberta PC party seems hell bent on appointing the worst possible leader running for the position.
Stelmach should never have risen past 5th place .
Redford followed the same method to power.
