Walking Out On Crazy Leaders

While normally I would be proud to see Canadian diplomats boycotting an Iranian speech at the United Nations, I do have a procedural request. The visual effect is far greater when you get up and walk out of the room 10 seconds after he starts talking than if you don't show up at all. The Canadian seats at the UN assembly were empty before Ahmadeninejad even began talking. Over 30 countries walked out during his speech, and that visual was broadcast on news stations all around the world. It was great to see. Next time, let's send our people to the speech and have them walk out as soon as he begins talking so cameras can catch the visual image.

  1. Got to agree with you on that, but would rather see Canada pulled out of this racist organisation.

  2. I was wondering what happened, and why we didn't walk out with the rest. Nobody reported that we weren't there to begin with.

  3. I disagree. Anyone who is important and cares about this already fully understands where Canada is on this issue. We do not need to be singled out.

Walking out gives him too much respect.

  4. OXYGENTAX,,It is our famous no name Canadian MSM who do not report these things. They refuse to report anything good that the Conservatives do..But front page headlines and scandal about our Minister of defense using a helicopter or General Natyshyn flying one of our air force jets instead of regular airlines. So cancel your subscriptions or at least complain to your newspaper if they are not reporting these stories.

  5. I agree with Bertie! Notice today how little is being said about PM Cameron's visit and speech. It was too positive on our government. They're doing the silence treatment. Perhaps there will be more tomorrow... but today, not much.

  6. Well, I for one read in several places about Canada boycotting the speech. You just have to read past the headline and deep into the article.
