The Next Great Governor General

I'll admit that I did not approve of the Liberals appointing CBC journalists to the Governor General position. To me this created an incentive whereby journalists may display preferential treatment to the Liberal Party on the chance that they might be tapped for the un-elected defacto-head of state. You get dipshits like Evan Soloman who can become convinced they can be GG if they spin it the right way, and that taints the journalism, most egregious of all at the Canadian Broadcast Corporation.

Having said that, I have been quite satisfied if not pleased by the service of Michaelle Jean. She could have thrown this country into complete constitutional chaos a year ago had she decided to allow the Coalition to advance forward. Despite being appointed by Liberals, she recognized that it was important to shut it down and let people cool down. That was the best thing that we could have done. She had her consumption of seal meat, which I strongly approved of. Seals are voracious predators.

Therefore I must say that I would approve of giving her a second term. Having said that, if Mike Harris wanted the job....that would be awesome! Talk about putting the left on their heals!

An Antithesis to Colbert?

Stephen Colbert has risen to extreme popularity by doing a parody of Bill O'Reilly. He pushes the right wing to its satirical limits, which the left wing adores because the prism through which Colbert parodies the right plays right into the left wing wheel house. At the same time, there are young conservatives who enjoy the show for the pure comedy and enjoy the character he portrays more than the comedian himself. It cuts both ways. I can't say with absolute certainty who Colbert really supports in the voting booth, but I suspect there is a high probability he is a democrat; hence why he has created a career parodying to right wing.

Which has gotten me to thinking, why hasn't anyone emerged as the right wing antithesis of Colbert? Where are the comedic minds mocking the far left in a similar fashion? Trust me, if anyone wants to parody the far left, there is a treasure of untapped ideas. Colbert has inspired a generation of left wing comedians to go behind enemy lines and pretend to be conservatives in the name of satire. In some cases, such as the Yes Men, they try to convince conservatives that they are conservatives, hoping to catch them being tricked on camera. For Colbert, the shtick almost works better if people know it's a joke. People don't stop watching the show when they find out that he's not really a Republican.

We need more people making a mockery of the far left, because there is certainly lots to mock! Some of these Liberal Bloggers are just crazy....

Show Them You're a Tiger!

I am a fan of Tiger Woods. When I first saw the news of the car accident, it said that he was not hurt so I didn't really give it much thought. He's fine, no big deal. I was much more concerned about the round of golf that I was going to play that day. Now we find out that he was likely "sexting" one of his many mistresses while in bed with his beautiful wife, and that she may have chased him out of the house swinging one of Tiger's clubs. Those Scandinavians are normally very mellow, but they have the ability to snap and unleash their "inner Viking".

Now that more people are talking about the latest twists in the story, I still don't care. I don't care how many broads he wants to bang, just so long as they are of legal age and it is consensual. Aside from that, I don't care how often he wants to "take his dink and sink it in da pink" (Brocket 99). If he wants to risk losing ungodly amounts of money in a public divorce, then that is his risk to take. Show me any athlete who is the best at what he does and is worth a billion dollars, and I will show you a man who gets offered more casual sex with more gorgeous women than any regular civilian could even dream of. The average brain cannot even begin to fathom how many women want to share a bed with Tiger Woods. As Adam Carolla said on his podcast yesterday "at the end of the day, he has a dick and balls".

I say show 'em you're a Tiger! But to Misses Woods, I say the Iceman is available. I can't imagine a better way to get revenge than to take half of Tiger's money and hook up with an obscure Canadian blogger. I golf, albeit my best score is a 105 with 8 mulligans, but I did once sink a hole in one.

Think about it...the offer is out there...

Liblogs; Shame on Parade

Let me take a moment to plug the entertainment value of the Liblogs as a community with a collective opinion. I never knew until I started visiting the site that I would derive so much pleasure from reading that nonsense. The site is similar to a clown car, and once one of their leaders honks the "conspiracy horn" they all come rushing out to parade their outrage and express their shame at being Canadians. None of them seem to want to come out and defend Heather Mallick, but at the same time, many are repeating her message that they are ashamed of our government.

I sympathize. I was ashamed of Jean Chretien flying around the world as the face of our nation. Today the parade of shame was on Chinagate, Torturegate, and Climategate. Doorknobgate, Nationalunitygate, Logogate, and Pigflugate are yesterday's news. They are ashamed that the state run Chinese media is upset that the Prime Minister has criticized an oppressive regime on their human rights record. They are ashamed that we are skeptical of global warming, insisting that the rest of the world is going to blast us for not agreeing with a clear hoax. And of course they are also outraged that the Tories were not able to clean up the Liberal torture mess sufficiently fast enough.

There are also many conspiracy theories on the Liberal blogs. Things like Harper personally planting explosives in the World Trade Centers as an pretext to invade Afghanistan to torture innocents, Harper creating a weather machine to destroy New Orleans in concert with George Bush, Harper advocating a polar bear holocaust, Harper being the captain of the Exxon Valdez then covering it up, drip, drip, drip. etc, etc. Liberals become quite the apoplectic bunch once they find themselves in a desperately bleak electoral situation, led by a leader not elected by the membership who reveals himself to be more and more incompetent every day.

Keep up the great work Liblogs! I'll be watching...

And they love using polar bears as props to sell their climate change agenda.

Canada was already a preferred destination for Chinese refugees

For years Canada has been a top destination for thousands of Chinese people, those who were fleeing an oppressive regime; a country where someone like Heather Mallick is thrown in jail for having an opinion. Living in Vancouver, I have personally met many Chinese people who emigrated from China. They love Canada, and surprisingly enough don't have many nice things to say about the government that they fled. To read Bob Rae's quote today is quite enlightening...

"We've paid a price, the fact is we've paid a price for four years of not just living on the margins but actually deliberately disregarding china. This was not benign neglect. This was a deliberate decision on [Mr. Harper's] part to ignore the relationship and to assert that it had no particular importance for him."

China has now placed Canada on its list of preferred tourist destinations; so now the Liberals are outraged that Stephen Harper accomplished in 4 years what they were unable to do in 12 years? Does that make any sense? This is almost as absurd as Torturegate, where the Liberals are furious that the Tories did not clean up the Liberal mess fast enough. Conservatives cleaned up after the Liberals signed a Torture Transfer Agreement, and Conservatives got a preferred destination deal that the Liberals were unable to get. It is a strange sensation when someone gets angry at you because they screwed up.

This benign neglect that Rae speaks of, is this the same "neglect" as when the Prime Minister discussed boycotting the Beijing Olympics in protest of China's human rights record? Did this outrage Canada's Chinese community? No, in fact Richmond, which has the highest proportion of Asian voters in the country, flipped from the Liberal caucus to the Tory caucus by a substantial number of votes. The Conservatives won this previously Liberal seat by roughly 20% of the popular vote. Oh the humanity!

I am a big fan of the Asian peoples. Many of my best friends are Asians. They are hard working, very polite, and make a fantastic contribution to Canadian society. I welcome more of them! Come on in! These people understand better than any the folly of the far left wing governments, and they are shifting to the right in significant blocks. People who have actually lived under Communist governments are the most likely to vote Conservative? Interesting. Canadian lefties read in a text book that communism is wonderful and flock to the Liberals, but people who actually lived the horror of the far left vote Conservative. Read what this asshole had to say...

Are you paying attention Mr. Rae?

Choose the Theme Song to Heather Mallick's Life

If you were directing the movie about Heather Mallick's life, what would you choose as the theme song at the final credits? I definitely want to hear your suggestions before I launch the poll. So far my ideas are; 1) Loser by Beck, 2) Because I got high by Afroman, 3) Hit the road jack by Ray Charles, 4) Roses by Outkast (mostly for the chorus, I know you like to think your shit don't stink), 5) I look forward to your suggestions...

I had some other ideas for poll questions, but I think the theme song idea is the best. Normally I don't put the poll question up for nomination, just the answer options. These were my other poll ideas...

1) Who would you rather be marooned with on a deserted Island?

A) Mallick, Pelosi, Garafoolo, God please take my life in the crash

2) Who would you be most devastated to have your son reproduce with?

A) Mallick, Pelosi, Garafoolo, I would rather castrate my kin

3) Hell would be eternity doing this?

A) talking with Mallick, watching reruns of PeeWee's playhouse, being water boarded

I once ran the poll:

If you could banish one CBC personality from the media in perpetuity, who would you choose?

Heather Mallick (49%)
Peter Mansbridge (36%)
Evan Soloman (7%
)

Afterwards I wrote Heather Mallick, you should be fired!

I have also been following what some of the left wing bloggers have been writing about this issue, and some of them are completely smitten with their hero. As one progressive blogger wrote "Heather is my hero"...

Colvin Testimony; some highlights, vol I

This Colvin testimony is fascinating stuff, and most certainly incriminates the Liberal Martin Administration. It is tricky because when Mr. Colvin is discussing a Conservative, he provides their name rank and serial number. When referring to the previous Liberal Government, he says "Canada had decided that Canadians would not monitor". So when the Martin Administration fails to include a proper monitoring apparatus in the transfer agreement, blame Canada, not government Ministers. Got it.

We did not monitor our own detainees after their transfer. Again, unlike the British and Dutch, Canada's memorandum of understanding on detainees, signed by General Rick Hillier in December 2005, had no provision for our own officials to follow up on what happened to our detainees after they were handed to the Afghan intelligence service, the NDS, or National Directorate of Security.

In other words, in the critical days after a detainee was first transferred to the Afghan intelligence service, nobody was able to monitor them. Canada had decided that Canadians would not monitor. The AIHRC could not do so, because they had very weak capacity and were not allowed into NDS jails. The Red Cross in practice could not do so either, because we did not inform them until days, weeks, or months after we had handed over the detainee.

According to our information, the likelihood is that all the Afghans we handed over were tortured. For interrogators in Kandahar, it was standard operating procedure.

Another consequence was that we ourselves did not know about the fate of a given detainee after transfer. Was he still in detention? Had he been released? Had he been transferred to a third party? Had he died under torture or been executed? We had no idea.

This was the system created by the Martin Administration, they ultimately determined that we should not monitor prisoners after we transferred them to Afghan sovereign custody. The Liberals failed to allow the Red Cross proper access to detainees. Their defense for this slice of life is that they couldn't have known about it, ergo because their own bureaucracy was not competent enough to determine that their own transfer agreement was in fact violating the Geneva Conventions, this absolves them of any shared responsibility.

To recap, Canada took far more detainees than the British and Dutch. Unlike our NATO allies, we conducted no monitoring. Instead of hours, we took days, weeks, or months to notify the Red Cross, which meant that nobody else could monitor. We kept hopeless records, and, apparently to prevent any scrutiny, the Canadian Forces leadership concealed all this behind walls of secrecy.

Again, this was the state of our military bureaucracy at the end of 12 years of Liberal mismanagement. They tripped and fell near the end of their leg of the race and then fumbled the baton pass to the new Conservative government. It took a moment for our newly elected government to recover the baton, get their footing, and take off. The Liberals created a flawed system and are furious that the government did not right their wrongs immediately after assuming power after 12 years out of office. Those are some very lofty expectations from the people who neglected our Armed Forces for a generation. Is it any shock that we did not have the bureaucratic resources in place at the end of Liberal rule to prevent these mistakes from ever happening in the first place? Given the deplorable Liberal neglect, I am amazed that the good men and women of our Armed Forces were still able to perform with such valour.

Hon. Bob Rae:

I want to ask you to try to explain for me why you think it took 17 months for the Canadian government to realize that something had to change.

You sent an action memo in May 2006, and in your affidavit to the military commission you describe a number of memos and information that you provided. I wonder if you can now, in reflection, tell us why you think it took so long for the Canadian government to realize that the procedures had to change because something had substantially gone wrong.

Mr. Richard Colvin:

That's a good question, Mr. Rae. There are perhaps two parts to it. At the beginning, in 2006—our first reports were in May and June 2006—the Canadian effort in Afghanistan was a bit disorganized, a bit under-resourced and a little bit disjointed.

Again, Mr. Colvin described the state of the leadership in Afghanistan when the Conservatives came to power. The military receives its orders from Ottawa. The Liberal leadership in Ottawa was doing an extremely poor job of administrating our Armed Forces, and Mr. Colvin discusses this in great detail in his testimony. The quotes above were just from the first few pages of the testimony, there are plenty more precious gems of Liberal failures yet to come. I still haven't even broached the subject of the admissibility of hearsay in our justice system.

Notice how Bob Rae is also taking a veiled shot at the Liberal Party in his questions? He admits that the Liberal transfer agreement had gone wrong and had to change, and he asks why it took the Tories over a year to correct all the Liberal mistakes in "procedures".

Knee Deep in Colvin Testimony

As Liberal pundits and politicians continue to hammer the Tories for not cleaning up the Liberal mess fast enough, I decided to download the entire transcript of Colvin's testimony in front of a Special Committee in Canadian Parliament. I will treat him as a credible witness and am analyzing exactly what he said. There is some fantastic material here! I am only 2,000 words into the 18,000 word transcript, but I will surely blog more on the specifics in the near future. If the Liblogs insist on talking about it, let's micro analyze the failures of their own administration.

I would prefer to take Rick Hillier's word that his testimony is ridiculous, but for the benefit of my Liberal detractors who won't shut up about these alleged war crimes, I will take their star witness at his word while reading all his words.

Talk to you soon...

Liblogs; When Collective Selective Amnesia Attacks!

I have been blogging for nearly a year now, and it was not until recently that I took an interest in the Liblogs. A "blogging expert" on the Soloman Show cited their outrage at "torturegate" as evidence that they must be right, so I decided to delve a little deeper. They are hammering away at torturegate every day, either because they think that they can make these allegations stick, or because they have no other fecal matter to sling at the Tories. Some of them are shaken up that they have ceded the "Harper Sales Tax" as an election wedge issue.

What really stands out if you read what these people are writing, which I have been, is that they make no mention whatsoever about the Martin Government initiating the prisoner transfer agreement, and zero about Colvin saying the torture was rampant when he arrived shortly after the Conservatives defeated the Liberals in 2006. Ergo, if Colvin is credible and accurate, the previous Liberal Government committed war crimes. Any mention of that? None. The silence is deafening. In what can only described as a massive concurrent case of selective collective amnesia, the Liberal pundits are accusing the soldiers that their own administration sent into Kandahar of committing war crimes under the Liberal watch; and are outraged that the Tories did not clean up the Liberal mess soon enough.

I would encourage other Blogging Tories to check out some of these Liberal sites for story ideas. There is a goldmine of counter-punch material to inspire and muse your mind! Check out this Progressive Nut who wants to end Christmas. I'll tell you, some of these left wing opinionists belong in an insane asylum.

Iggy Speaks; There's Waldo!

I just saw a TV interview with Mike Ignatieff on the CBC, and boy the chosen one was sure stumbling mightily through his word selection. Ever since Prophet Donolo took control, Iggy sightings have been rare. I have called this the "Where's Waldo" strategy. Donolo is sharp enough to recognize that people don't like his client, so the best move for the Liberal Party is to keep him off television as much as possible. Let other more seasoned and smooth veterans like John McCallum, Stephane Dion, and Scott Brison handle the media.

He was interviewed on the floor of the house today about his pending support for the HST. You could tell that he was pissed off that he was forced to say what he said. By voting for the HST, they are taking away what was supposed to be a key talking point in the next campaign. It is off the table as a partisan issue if the Liberals support it, and you could see the furry in Iggy's eyes when he was talking about it. It is seldom that "the great word smith" is at a loss of words. I get Donolo's strategy is more important, and the back room can indeed override the Czar.

"A liberal is a man too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel."
