Today's poll question; is it appropriate for a comedy troupe to film uninvited unexpected improv sketches at the homes of politicians? A maniacal CBC character and camera crew ambushed Rob Ford at his home on his driveway with his young daughter present, and the CBC has been hammering him all day for responding to the ambush by calling the police. Was calling the police necessary? Maybe not, but he should never have been put in that position. The loonie left has been sending death threats to the Mayor, and the CBC suddenly decides to jump this guy first thing in the morning outside his house when he's driving his young child to school? Seriously??? How long did they sit waiting outside his house for him to come out?
What the CBC did here was just stupid and wrong. If we permit this as acceptable we are setting a dangerous precedence. Who's going to want to get into politics if you are going to be harrassed in your driveway? The clowns on CBC Newsworld today were having a lot of fun with this story today, with one dude joking that he had to pour through many e-mails to find any supportive of Ford. The discussion of whether or not this home ambush was an appropriate decision was noticeably absent. Then tonight on the National, Mansbridge did a whole bit on why Rob Ford's 1st year was so terrible and the worst "mistake" they could name was him missing the Pride parade (meanwhile Christy Clark skipped the one in Vancouver and the media hardly made a whimper). Sure Ford has yet to cut the budget as promised (thanks in part to ardent left wing opposition), but nothing he's done can be classified as doing a bad job. Yet to hear some journalists talk about it, through one year he's the worst Mayor in the history of Canada. Some journalists and bloggers, like Marcus Gee at the Globe and Mail have pretty much dedicated their lives to attacking Ford.
Kelly McParland wrote a great piece on this story in the National Post which I strongly recommend reading.
I think CBC should apologize, but I won't hold my breath.
ReplyDeleteDoes CBC have a death wish? Are they really so stupid that they think they can continue their far left agenda without Canadians getting upset?
CBC crossing the line and invading the privacy of a politician's young family. Disgusting and pathetic.
ReplyDeleteMarg Delahunty, Stalker
ReplyDeleteI've seen this woman a couple of times. Her stupiod shtick isn't funny. She dresses like Xena and screeches at people when they are at work and we are all supposed to think it's a gutbuster.
ReplyDeleteIt's got nothing to do with conservative or liberal. She's just as lame when she does it to Liberals. The problem is the CBC has comedians who are so crappy that the only way they can work is if you subsidize them. If this old bag's routine had to pay for itself in the open entertainment market she'd starve. Same as Rick Mercer.
An agent of the CBC was trespassing on private property - the cops were called - Ford took appropriate action in accordance with the standard recommendation by law enforcement agencies that citizens should not take matters into their own hands when threatened by unknown persons
ReplyDelete'nuff said.

You never know what that stale comedian would have done if Ford hadn't called the police she might have entered his house ravish the house and whatever.
ReplyDeletethere are signs that says: ' no dogs allowed'; 'no trespassing'
well, 'no cbc are allowed nor do they trespass on my property'
I think Rob ford got the last laugh bye calling the cops on her now thats funny.bye the way my name is Roy but gong under anon cause at work and my google account is not set up on this comp.
ReplyDeleteHow long before NO CBC ALLOWED signs start to appear on lawns, bumbper stickers and pins.
ReplyDeleteEzra Levant should show up at Marg's house first thing in the morning.
ReplyDeleteRob Ford should start a "get off my lawn" campaign. His poor daughter could have nightmares for years about that crazy witch. She made her cry! How did Ford become the bad guy in all this?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure if I went to her house, hid in the bushes, then when she's walking to her car I jump out, start charging towards her yelling "I got you, I got you", I'm sure she'd get the joke and start laughing. Come on, where's your sense of humour?
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Marg Delahunty and apparently her bosses at the CBC don't "get" it, is reason enough to cut the CBC budget.
ReplyDeleteCut it by at least enough to put Marg's creaky old persona of a tubby "warrior womyn" out on the street busking for quarters.
Rushing at someone out of the dark, yelling could well get someone badly hurt.
Note to tubby warrior woman, you aren't funny, just another CBC weirdo.
Cheers Bubba
We are already scaring the living day lights out of the cbc to have it running scared.
ReplyDeleteThere are about 34 million Canadians living here. Your contribution to the CBC works out to $29.41 per person. Deduct it from your income tax, or multiples of depending on how many reside at your home. Cost of a designer pizza, whatever. I'm counselling people to commit tax fraud, but considering that the CBC doesn't think it is answerable to the people who pay their salaries and perks (pensions too), or even to the Government of Canada who funds them, justifiable.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch CBC, so why should I be forced by my federal government to pay for them? The feds are removing the forced marketing of western farmer's grain through the Canadian Wheat Board, time to do the same for the CBC. Sink or swim.
If Mr Ford had had ANY self-defense training at all, this stupid woman would have found herself on the ground with at least a broken arm if not a broken neck.
ReplyDeleteDepending on how scared he was by having someone jump out of the bushes and running at him screeching like a banshee.
She should consider herself very lucky all he did was call the police.
Ford is a politician and should make himself available. I have no problem with ambush if a politician refuses requests and hides like a chicken.
